The MG34 Repair and Troubleshooting Thread

Hi Desert_Fox. If you are looking for ejector plates, a while back, Reidar from Bergflaks lounge said he had a pile of them for $40 USD each. The ones i got from him where NOS and work perfect. It could be a good place to look if you cant find any in canada.

Nice transit crate BTW!

Thanks, and Thanks!!

Got an Ejector Plate coming!

To Dilligaf: Did you get yours converted to shoot 7.62NATO? (Barrel, Feed Tray, etc)?

Looks like you had a good time. Not too many FTE’s either.

Sorry brother I couldn't resist!

Nice shooting, she is very jumpy and there is a lot of recoil - or is it just me?

Cheers,

This happened today

Awesome video - My MG34 should be here in the next 10 days - can’t wait!

Any idea what caused the stoppages?

Also, I noticed that you had the AA sight mounted and the rear sight all the way up at the 2000 yard setting, so I assume you were sighting through it. If you look on the back of the flip-up sight, there’s a flip-up peep sight that should be extended when using the AA sight, at least according to all of the reading I did before I ordered mine!

Not just you! Definitely jumpy. Felt recoil rapid fire isn’t bad as the MG is so heavy. The gun wasn’t secured on the cushion material on the shooting table so it moved more.

There was a burr on the ejection port that caused jams (FTE). The sights were up but no one used them! LOL! We had about 30 mins to shoot before the range closed so we were playing the defense of Normandy on D-Day. Just aimed at the 200m berm and ripped it! Dilli just wanted a function check done.

Dilli will sight it in when he has more time.

They all seem to have the odd stoppage. If you watch some old ww2 footage of the guns being fired you see the Germans rack the charging handles too every so often
It will loosen up as you run it more, not sure if you ditched the tnw firing pin spring but putting an original spring in will make it run better if your using commercial ammo
Looks like you had fun shooting it!

What a great day, Even broke it and had some parts fall out...lol

I still have a freedom boner, Cant wait to shoot it next weekend on the tripod.

Glad you had fun but to be honest if my new toy (of $5500) broke after 500 rounds I'd be ripping someones fu*king head off...;)

Lets just say it was well worth it...lol... I had a blast today :)

Good luck, bro! Hope it’s something simple. Sending it back would be a beotch!

I know Wolverine is top notch guys, Im pretty sure If I send them a picture of the broken parts they wont need me to send my MG34 in :)

Shipping would be a killer...lol... And I need to put my Gun Plumber skills back to the test.
