The Most Accurate Rimfire under 600 Bucks?

A heavy barrel Savage with a good stock and AccuTrigger will outshoot most CZ guns. CZ is likely the only other worthy competition in that price range. Will depend on the individual gun more than anything.

The 452 Varmint and Savage 93R17 are bound to get mentioned. You probably can't beat the value of the Savage, but the CZ's just look and feel "right".

I dont own one, but it wouldnt hurt to look at the Thompson Center R55 .22 lr.
T/C has always been an accurate rifle out of the box. JMO

CZ is great....but love the accutrigger.

I've been shooting the Savage BSEV...all stainless...cool barracuda stock...shooting hole through hole out of the box...with a little help from Leupold 2-7x28mm rimfire scope.

Accurate rimfire~if accuracy is paramount, start with .17HMR as your caliber. You don't need a match-grade .17 rifle to get great results. Most ammo. I've used is super consistent too, unlike allot of the .22lr ammo. I've tried over the years.

I'm a relatively new CZ-fan, but sold my Savage 93R17 to get it. The CZ just feels better, AND looks better in my eyes. Haven't shot it enough to know whether or not it shoots as well/better than the Savage...but if it shoots as well, I'll be a happy. Might even be a little surprised, Savage with Accu-trigger is kind of hard to beat.

In .22~I don't know anyone who owns a heavy-barrel Savage .22, but suspect it would be a good choice if their .17s are any indication. I bought a mint-condition Anschutz 1451 about 10 years ago, it's a really plain-Jane field rifle but I've never shot another .22 that can touch it's accuracy. I can only imagine what some of the "better" Anschutz rifles are capable of.

For an accurate .22lr rifle, i was looking at a savage with a stainless, heavy bull barrel. would i be better off with a bolt action or semi if i want the ideal accuracy for a .22lr rifle?

savage bolt action with heavy barrel and accutrigger. Bolt action is inherently more accurate. My wife's savage in her hands will group 5 rounds into a quarter at 50m. Loonie size with good ammo at 100. Woman can shoot!
