The Most Bizarre Sniper Rifle Ever Made

OK but by definition a scout rifle is not a sniper rifle. Sure it can be pressed into that role, but the entire concept is centered around a light, portable, all purpose rifle for practical, general shooting as opposed to a specialized long range or precision "sniper rifle". This explicity mandates a lower power, lightweight optic better suited to quick snap shots without any of the features you'd want on a dedicated "sniper" rifle.
The entire point of a scout is that it's NOT a "sniper" or any other form of specialized rifle.
Big miss by GT on the entire premise of this firearm, maybe the divorce is getting to him.

Yeah the absolute audacity of going "this is the most bizarre sniper rifle ever made" when it's entire purpose of existance is not to be a sniper rifle. I guess a Honda civic is a pretty bizarre sniper rifle too.

Realistically GT makes meme videos for brain rotted zoomers who grew up playing Call of Duty and Counterstrike (which I believe features a Steyr Scout), so to them anything bolt action with a scope on it is a "sniper rifle".

Also the Scout rifle is basically a failed concept given the options and modularity of the AR15/AR10 platform.

Youtube is starting to suck, the content bubble is collapsing and people are starting to resort to sensationalizing at the expense of accuaracy(like OPS video) or repeating content(I see that Forgotten Weapons just did another SPAS12 video, though that was covered years ago)

Maybe I am just getting old and cranky.

The Germans fielded a similar concept with their Zf41 equipped K98. They considered it a ‘sharpshooter’s’ rifle. Sniper is a stretch, but any rifle that improves hit probability in the hands of a talented rifleman should be considered.

Indeed.
That was a DMR. A DMR is distinctly not a sniper rifle either. Another good example is the Swiss ZFK-55. Often called a sniper rifle, explicitly a DMR.

I wouldn't call the scout rifle a failed concept. By nature of being a bolt action it is intended to to be an ammo conserving and super reliable weapon for very bad times, bad times like say here in Canada after the AR rifles all got prohibited.

In my previous post, I left out 'high powered,' as in .30 calibre. Thank you.

So, having now watched the full video, I find this otherwise very knowledgeable guy has committe4d a cardinal error that every gun owner should avoid at all costs- he's referred to an ordinary bolt action rifle as a 'sniper rifle.' No no no no no, that should not ever be done, not ever. Talk about giving ammunition to the gun banners, that ranks as a #1. Is he that stupid, or was he being sensational to draw views, it's not for me to say.

Aside from that, I agree with him that that the configuration of that rifle stinks in almost every regard. The stock, the optic, the barrel, and the magazines- Cooper proposed a 10 round magazine, not a 5. I don't want one, thanks, but if you insist on giving me one, leave it at the back door.

Another thought about ammo conservation- looking at Cormac McCarthy's book and movie 'The Road,' there's a reason that every firearm seen after a disaster as prolonged as the one imagined is either a bolt action hunting rifle or a revolver*- old Cormac really thought that one through.

* and yes there was the ship's flare gun, but let's not get stupid.

And that's the definition the horsemen will use when "sniper rifles" are banned.

I didn't watch the video but I assume that any rifles is using by a Sniper is a Sniper rifle, I mean the white death used a simple bolt action rifle. It's all about the shooter and location.

Well…to add to the list of sniper rifles there is this housewife in Simcoe, Ontario that was charged with using super soaker water spraying sniper saturating squirter. Terrifying weapon, rumoured the traumatized victim wet his pants…lol

Surely we've all been around youtube long enough to realize people use these types of titles to game the algorithm? Apparently not, but I guess that makes me a zoomer whatever that means.
Nothing wrong with being called a zoomer. I get called a boomer all the time; that’s just another word for responsible citizen or tax payer.

It was apparently part of a harassment campaign. The water gun was what got her arrested, but I don’t think it was about the water gun.
