The most reliable rifle you ever owned.

My pre-'64 Model 70 Winchester 270 Win. wasn't new when I bought it in 1969. Through all kinds of weather and a pile of ammo it has never failed to feed, fire or eject. The trigger-pull is superb. The last gun I would ever sell and it will likly go to my grandson.

Excellent! I like the sound of that--My most reliable (and accurate) rifle is just that--A 1948 M70 Winchester 270 Win passed on to me by my grandfather! He bought it new, and transferred it to me when his eyesight finally failed at 93. I call him every time I take it out--it's a great connection between us, and a fantastic rifle to boot!

I posted my main thoughts already, but here's one that has been through the mill [literally]
It is a Remington 700 "Classic" [1994] chambered in 6.5x55 Swede. It is now on it's third barrel. It has never had a extractor replacement, never had a bolt handle come off, and never had an accidental discharge. [take that, all you Remington Bashers...lol]
The 3rd barrel now has about 450 rounds down the tube, and may be the most accurate barrel yet.
I have shot a truckload of deer with it, along with an Elk and 2 or 3 Moose. It is a winner, for sure. Eagleye.

Most accurate hunting gun for me:Savage 99C .308,1 1/4",5 SHOTS groups all day long with reloads and with witness...I had several Rem 700 bolt action hunting rifles and they just don't do the same thing.

But for a factory rifle NOW,Tikka are the best for accuracy.Older models are better...

I have a M700 with King bbl in 257 Roberts that is the most consistent rifle I've ever owned. Always feeds, always fires, always pleases. :)

I would say it is currently my 10/22 based simply on the amount of ammo I shoot through it. It used to feed most kinds of ammo from the factory rotary mag. After adding a vq extractor, it now feeds anything from any mag (including Hot Lips). Next year I may give it a real cleaning.

In all fairness, my Savage 111 has never failed me but it only sees a couple boxes of ammo and a couple months worth of hunting a year.

Husqvarna Crown Grade 30-06 I bought used when I was 15 out of the Bargain Finder. Talked Dad into driving me to the sellers house and into lending me the money to buy it!!! Has never let me down and I have carried it from the dusty deserts of New Mexico to the snowy tundra of northern NWT. They don't make them like that anymore.

Ruger MK77 stainless steel in 300 Win Mag. It's always the first rifle I take hunting even though I have others to choose from. Very accurate with 165 grainers using IMR4350.
