The Mountain Hunting Thread

Plenty of experience hunting above treeline elevations for Elk and Bighorn Sheep. Here are some of my photos to share.

Looking forward to the upcoming season.

As a newbie, I love this thread! Keep posting the inspiring pics. The mountains are where I feel most at home and hope to join you guys hunting above treeline one day!

I love the mountains as well as goats. Here’s my biggest so far. My most memorable hunt as my hunting partner is no longer with us. Great memories of a great friend

Ted, I am honoured by the oportunity to hunt with you. I have lots to learn, but strong legs and back I've got.

We will be in Whitehorse tomorrow, if all goes to plan. If it works for you we could meet up then.

Bare, heard stories about him, lived life to the fullest. If you put [.img] [/.img] around your pic links without the periods I added, they’ll embed / display in the thread here, congrats on the goat.

Thanks Ardent, I’ve been trying to figure that out for a long time. Yes my friend sure lived life, much like yourself.

Nice goat... sorry to hear about your friend... a true friend is pure gold... and their loss is deeply felt.

At the risk of appearing to live in the past, this one is from Sept, 1975. Taken at close to 300 yards with a Husqvarna in 280 Rem, about 70 miles from the house.

Those were the days, my friend....

Sept 1975 (2).jpg

We thought they'd never end.
