No, he (or his no2) just dumped bulk rounds in to the hopper. Of course they had to point the right way. The stripper clips are there cause thats what I keep my dummy rounds on.

Bingo. Works great on the no4 rifles as well.

The canadian one did not have the cleaning rod function. We issued cleaning kits or pull throughs for that purpose.
