The NEA rifles...who else is in the "Seen 'em" club?

What I don't understand, is why you offered a quad rail as standard equipment rather than a superior material for your receiver. This is your first production AR why would you want to change the recipe instead of doing a perfect job first?

Most AR users are going to change the rifle to suit their needs/wants so why add an "aftermarket" accessory at the cost of user safety and final product quality? I bet said and done, your quad rail costs just as much as using 7075 in the receiver.

I'm pretty sure I called this post early in the thread :D - So I'm NOT officially a cynic!!!!!!!!

Personally, I'd prefer if I could buy the package already souped up for me. I would rather spend the time shooting, than researching a rail, buying it, waiting for shipping, cut my hands installing, ##### and complain about the FSB pin, installing lo pro gas block, ##### and complain, then finally mount the thing.

Turnkey solution is ideal for this bloke. swapping grips and stocks is ok, but doing free float and stuff that affects function if done wrongly. well...I'm not in that class of skill

If you're not putting anything on them, the standard guards will be lighter and more comfortable to hold.

The advantage of the quad rails is simple: if your gun is intended for any defensive use, it should have a red dot and a light. Rails make it easy to stick that stuff on, although you can put the RDS on your flat top, and one of those MI front sight tower rails is a good way to stick a light on your gun.

If your gun is going to be set up for precision anything, then you definitely can benefit from a free float rail.

Any dealers in the Durham area? I'd love to talk to someone about which model I need so I know how much to save. On another note, I'm surprised at all the negativity in this thread, people seem to line up for the norinco offerings but when a Canadian manufacturer tries to give us a fantasic option people sh!t all over it without ever seeing one. I don't know much about NEA but I would take their offering over a norinco any day, in fact I would take one over a US made one too. I think it's great to see another Canadian manufacturer of anything.

I guarantee you that if there was member of CGN called "Norinco", who actually rep'd the company... do I need to even finish the thought?

Oh for God sakes man, the only thing cooler at an Air Show than the 101 was a Phantom. Both had hard light burners and they really excited the crowds being lit as a Brace turned away. Wrong forum but I'd take a lightning anyday over that over rated icon assembled at Malton.:canadaFlag::p

You know you are going to burn in Hell for all eternity, don't you? :p

To tell the truth, I've looked up a number of American designs from the late '50s that were very similar to the Arrow. Most of them got cancelled too. But the Arrow was ours! :canadaFlag: :cheers::dancingbanana::dancingbanana: Besides, it was already flying; the others seldom made it past mockups.

It's the Canadian way. When I was young (and the prairies were still covered with bison) the idea that Canadian music would ever be worth listening to was ludicrous. Canadian actors moved to LA and pretended to be Americans. Come to think of it, they still do. At least our musicians can stand with the world's best.

Did you ever hear of Canada's Hundred Days? As a child I found it mentioned in a post-WWI ad for an upcoming history of our troops in that war. There was no further mention, no description, nothing. For years I thought there might have been some period of three months when our forces held the line before being destroyed. Only recently did I find out the truth. It would be an unsupportable exaggeration to claim that Canada won the First World War but, if any other country had done what we did, that is exactly what they would claim.

We're going to be releasing information via a video campaign. We'll post them on our Facebook page for a week before they make it to our YouTube site. That's where the eye-candy direct from us will be found going forward.

So, jumping back a couple hundred posts...

You mentioned that rifles chambered in rounds larger than 7.62x51 were planned. How big are we talking? I haven't looked-up the limits of direct gas impingement designs before, so you've gotten me curious. A .50 BMG would be pretty awesome.

You also mentioned hiring people. I'll be graduating from Rosemount Tech about a year from now (Industrial Drafting)...

No way am I letting you beat me at FPS's, though! :D

Why doesnt NEA design and produce a totally new firearm, like a quility XCR, for us non restricted lovers????

The AR is a known platform that has been around for decades. Building one that runs well, while by no means easy, would be 1000 times easier than designing a brand new platform. Perhaps they have plans to change the world with a new design down the road, but the logical place to start is the AR.

Ummm... A totally new semi-auto firearm design? For under 1k? Available in a month or so?

If it was that easy, everybody would be doing it. Just ask Robarm, the maker of the XCR, how easy that is to do.

I have no doubt NEA could come up with a 100% new firearm. But that takes a heck of a lot of time.

The AR platform is battle proven. Buy one an enjoy it.

Who knows what else NEA will give us in the future. Lets support them and find out. :D
