The ruger african also makes an excellent club, as i had ro use it as such on a charging wounded impala. Marked up his horns and my gun. It was a close call.

It was the one hunt i didnt wear my go pro. I have pics if i could get photobucket to work. Once i shot it and the ph aked if i was ok he doubled over laughing.

Didn't open at all? Or punched such a tiny wound channel that it might as well have not opened at all?

no even the plastic tips didnt like the recoil in the magazine and my load was mild .... it happens 3 times so with at least 9-12 different cartridges ...

That's awesome. You have a cool story to tell about how you used your NEW KING as a gun club.

There were some Accubonds that did that about 10 years ago or more. Some fell apart in the box, some in the magazine.

DGX, spire point and GMX for sure. First two are junk, prone to coming apart.

if you were with Gibbo you were protected. even a softpoint was working in those days ...

i may have to test some dgx with the 375 to see how they handle the water and milk jugs ...

I shot some 270sp and 300 gr dgx into a dirt mound from my 375 ruger(I know not the best real life media) but recovered bullets weighed just over 100gr. Core was gone only recovered the jacket. Shouldbe fine for black bears and elk/moose but I would be shooting the 250 or 270 gr tsx/ttsx at bigger tougher game.

Depends where you're going. RSA is no problem. Zimbabwe is impossible.

not uncommon for professional hunters/guides to have ignorant views on cartridges. For the most part they're as uninformed as joe sixpack about bullet construction etc. 7mm's are wounders! The 270 is better. 308 will bounce off a moose, get a 30-06.
