Naaah....I don't think anybody is paying much attention to the RUM cartridges these days, with the exception of the 300 because 300's always sell, and maybe 338 RUM for the guys that want affordable 338 Lapua performance.
 
for 2010, Remington has actually dropped the 375 RUM, in favor for the new MARUM (Med action rem ultra mag)....................initial loads show a 270gr @ 2700 fps

I really don't see the advantage over the .375H&H ? I have owned a .375H&H for years accuracy is good and the .375 Ruger shows no credible ballistic advantage over the .375H&H so why change .Not that the .375 Ruger isn't a good cartridge .I just don't see an advantage over the .375 H&H. The .375 Ultra isn't selling but that I think is more to do with Recoil than anything else ,it is in the same class as the .378 Weatherby and these are just too much gun for most people . Most of these new cals are just to keep people buying new guns like a new body style of truck and I'll admit I'm as guilty of buying the new as any body else there is an Ultra mag or two in my collection.

it's more about the rifle, than it is the ballistics. The 375 ruger is equaling the H&H with a shorter, handier length barrel, and in a standard action M77 rifle which weighs less.

Ruger created the ultimate 375 cartridge/rifle package - although Im not a fan of the hogue stock. this can be fixed with $500

An interesting cartridge to say the least but there isn't much info available on it, that I've been able to find, with my limited computer skills. Could you post a drawing with the differences in cartridge size and/or the ballistic differences etc??

I heard Winchester will be introducing the .375 WSLSM *T (Winchester Slightly Longer Short Magnum *Tapered) in their new medium length action. It provides increased case capacity when compared the the true short magnums yet because it is slightly shorter than .30-06 length cartridges allowing for an "in-between" action length. This means the action will be stiffer, and therefore potentially more accurate, than a regular length action. Finally the case is tapered (not a very sharp shoulder) to facillitate smoother feeding.

The .375 WSLSM *T combines these three features - slightly more case capacity, stiffer action and smoother feeding - to bring you the ultimate triumvirate in .375" bore rifles.

Oh, I should point out that it will offer a solid 75 fps increase (with a 300gr bullet) in muzzle velocity over the once usefull, but now dated, .375 H&H magnum.

Heresy!

The 375 Rum is still available in the XCR among others....MADE ME LOOK you bastage!!! :D
