Holy cow that is an awesome bull...

One day I need to give caribou hunting a try haven't eaten it since I was 8 - 10 years old...

Can a 375RUM be downloaded?

Damn you I was looking for a new rifle project or a new rifle and you had to bring common sense into this equation...

Yes I can download it and after a quick search found some data from 2003 showing IMR4064 would be the powder to use...

Hopefully I'll get to the range later today or later this week with a few loads to try...

:)

Is that your 375/06AI if so what velocities are you getting with 260 - 270gr bullets and what barrel length are you using...

I had a chance to buy that rifle with dies at a very good price and for some dumb reason passed. Never did get to shoot it.

Talk to WhyNot? He had a 375/06.

.

Sadly, I did not hunt with the NEW KING at all this fall...I had 2 new rifles, the Ruger #1 in .303 and a .260 Remington T1 that I used this year.:(

I expect it to see some more use next spring for bears, though.:)

I shot two deer. I was using an 235 gr TSX at just above min loads. Both shots were broad side. The first one was a small buck and he just tipped over on the very spot i hit him. Sort of like a knock out punch.

The second one was another small buck and was moving. My hit was a little further back than i would like but still in the lungs. He took two steps and then went down.

That was deer number three for that load and rifle. Last years deer dropped like a hammer. The 235 gr TSX's opened up very nicely on a broad side shot. I was surprised at the size of the entry wounds. Just below the skin there seems to be quite a bit of impact. Very little delay to full expansion.

Hornady 300 grain RN IL's...how tough?

Does anybody here know how tough the 300 grain Hornady Round Nose Interlocks are? If fired from a 375 H&H or the "New King" ...will they expand on deer when loaded up to "full" velocity?

Thanks, Jeff/1911.
