Blacktail cut up and loaded up in backpack, and the NEW KING slung on my shoulder, ready to go. With it's compact size, the NEW KING is a pleasure to carry in the dense vegetation of the coastal mountains. No wonder it is so favored by grizzly guides! :)

nice, so it is the perfect rifle for animals that will fit in a backpack.

i have a husky 1600 action just gathering dust here . not sure if i'll go with a 9.3x62 , a ruger 375 necked down to 9.3 of just a a ruger 375 .... depends on what parts i stumble across the next few months .
i working on converting a 303 to 7.62x39 that i want to finish first

all good choices. Depends if you are the type to get hung up on nostalgia and "classic" monikers, but judging from your current project I doubt it's an issue for you!! :)

You big friggin yeti...I could understand a manchild like Bartell carrying a compact rifle, but you're nto exactly built to slip through the tangles. Why not embrace your inner beast and pack The Emperor around? :D

This thread does seem to be getting way off track. I think what was intended as a welcoming to a new caliber now looks like a pissing match.

In an attempt to gain some first hand knowledge instead of being an arm chair outdoorsman I have one on order and should know for myself, I think that experience shall bear more wisdom than whats being posted as of lately.

Gatehouse, as a noob I dont have much standing to make critisiscm of your enthusiasm, but may I suggest that declaring "your new rifles supperiority" over other calibers is no longer helping to promote the caliber. Posting pictures and stories as you have here will.

I think this caliber will be quite enjoyable to try out this year, but it may get to the point where I ask for information about what experience or bullets people are having success with on other forums. Arguing, name calling, or calling down someone else or their experiences is totally the wrong way to go about building respect for the "new caliber"

Anyways something to think about...

BTW, anyone had luck, ballistic wise with any 300 gr. bullets? They dont seem much better than the 260's co-efficients and id like to try something a with a little more smack to it.

He's a troll and none of this thread is to be taken seriously. Noobs are his favourite victims.

I'm serious.

a troll , or just really really passionate about the 375 ?
i work with a couple guys who have bought 338wm in the last few years ( stepping up from a 308 and 30-06 )

and if you replaced the word 375 with 338 , they sound almost exactly the same as gatehouse ...... and i have to admit i was more than likely the same way when i first built my 45-120 years ago ......

and isn't it passion about pointy sticks that go BOOM that we are all here ?

I'm happy for you that you have ordered yourself a New King. I am sure you will enjoy it. As for the rest......Probably would have been better to just let us know what rifle make and model you ordered. ;)

Thanks for the heads up, coming from someone whos been on this site 7 years Ill definately take that into consideration, and i aint taking any sides, but I do hope I can say the words "ruger" right after "375" later on without :stirthepot2: when im looking for experience with different projectiles and weights...

I do like the stainless/laminate as well, definately a good looking gun.
