The new Tikka T1X Rimfire

Apparently Tikka is looking to get into the rimfire game! At $499 MSRP, this will be a big competitor with savage, CZ, Ruger, etc, since your basically getting Sako quality at a reduced price. Might have to pick one up in .17 HMR!

The above picture shows the magazine protruding from the stock...

Does anyone besides Ruger have a flush 10 round magazine? I expect Ruger has a patent on the rotary design or else there'd be more out there.
 
I saw after I posted that the mag isn't flush. I think the Browning 10shot mag is flush but it's a helix design not totary. Having it protrude a bit isn't a dealbreaker for me anyway. I can't stop thinking about this gun I need it so bad lol.
 
Brace yourselves for the price. The $499 MSRP is in USD. To suggest some perspective, the CZ 455 American comes with a MSRP of $421 USD ($521 CAD) and sell here for somewhat more. Nevertheless, a Tikka rimfire would be most welcome.
 
Had a peek over on RFC...and someone called this rifle a "CZ killer". lol My experience with Tikka/SAKO rifles is VERY limited...but if I were running the show @ CZ cranking out 455s and hoping people liked them as much as 452s...I'd be a little worried about this announcement. I don't "need" any more rimfires at the moment, and the Ruger "Precision" rimfire has me a little more stoked (big departure from anything I've owned)...but now I think I have to see which one shoots better before deciding. I guess I have a sense of what to expect from the Ruger, but if this Tikka is as nice as the Tikka centerfires I've handled...it'll be awfully tough to resist.
 
I wonder why the photo description in the bulletin says "Barrel Length: 16"-20" Threaded" but the write-up below says "it features a medium-contour 20" barrel."

If 16" in the 22LR is optional that would be excellent.

You beat me with posting this!! Lol I almost went nuts seeing this posted on fb. Somebody hurry get some in I need one in 22 and one in 17 lol
