The Norc 1911's just landed in Canada !!

Actually they haven't billed me for them yet either and I ordered at least 6 weeks ago. I actually can't remember it has been so long. But I am happy that they are coming and should be grateful Marstar is busy as they will be around for a while.

I have my registration certificates but no guns. That has never happened in that order before.

It has happened to me on every gun I have purchased (restricted) from a canadian online dealer, especially marstar.

heh.. just trying to let you know that it does happen, I doubt anything is wrong at all.

Because of the strong Canadian dollar the price must be lower now. Since the Chinese sell their products in US dollars the cost will be less than before.

Don't count on a reduced price... notice the fly paper "stuff" about reducing prices on books - and the book market is more responsive to market demands than the Canadian firearms market... Notice the comments about 800 Norcs not lasting for long :)

Enjoy your purchases - I am in the middle east and use the locally-supplied ones (rifles, pistols, etc...). No legal purchases for ex-pats here ;-)

order a np-30 and John from marstar e-mailed me about up grading to a np-30nickel of coarse I said yes and received another e-mail saying order confermed that same day that was a month ago and 7 weeks for the first order also have not seen any of the rest of the order , starting to get pissy and this was my first time ordering for them

The guns weren't even in until about 4 weeks of that. Also gotta wonder if the CFO may be holding anything up. I remember my friend did a handgun transfer in the summer...it took 3 mos to get approved.

you'll probly have it soon.

It probably is approved but Marstar doesn't know it. There seems to be a communication problem between Marstar and the CFC. Mine have been registered to me for a few weeks now and I have the certs but Marstar didn't know that.

Last I heard from Marstar was that they were waiting for the transfer to be approved. (It has never taken more than a week to get a transfer approved before so something ain't right.) About a week later I asked them for the reference number so that I could find out from the CFC what the problem was, but I never got a reply. I have just canceled my order.

I'm selling a gun right now and it's been almost two weeks since the transfer was initiated and still not done. One time I had to wait 3 weeks (my first handgun) other times I had restricted transfers done in couple days, but generaly (at least in ON) it's 1-2 weeks.

BTW you don't need Marstar to give the ref. # just call the CFO and ask them to look it up, I've done it many times; they will tell you if there are any transfers pending ad when it was started...;)

I got one of these from Marstar, but Canada Post beat the case up en route. One clasp was broken off, and the hinge was broken......... so the thing was in 3 pieces (top, bottom and clasp).

I contacated John at Marstar to see who would make the claim.. him or me.. and he said it wasn't worth the hassle, and he would send me a new case.

Well, as busy as they are this time of year, my new case arrived 10 days later. factory fresh and new (nicer than the one with the pistol even).

No charge and no hassle. No retailer is perfect, but I think these guys try harder than most.

KUDOS are due.

Too bad their service for shipping guns wasn't that fast. My package finally arrived today after over two months but unfortunately it has to sit at the post office until after xmas because the ATT center is closed.

Mine came in less than a week, and I'm also in S'toon. Everything was quick in my case, except for the looooong wait for the shipment to arrive. :D

HAWK 223;
I can understand you frustartion waiting for your pistol (1911a1 ??) BUT how could you be waiting for 2 months ?? We did not have any two months ago ??

At the beginning of December we advised customers that we would ship in about 3 weeks.... If my math is on then that is exactly waht we did ????

If only we were as effecient as all the arm chair retailers on this board....

MERRY CHRISTMAS regardless.
John

MARLIN 60;
We appreciate your positive posting.... Glad you got it given the Christmas Rush at Canada Post.

But be careful some people might agree with you much to the displeasure of those who like to complain....

MERRY CHRISTMAS
John

SPENCER;

You have never waited more than a week for a restricted transfer ?? Please enlighten all the members present, this is truely an admirable acheivement, how do you do it ?

I find this hard to beleive, you asked for the ref number and it was NOT given to you ?? What would be our interest in keeping it "secret" ??

I am really sad to hear that you were frustrated to the point of cancelling your order. Not something we like to hear.

I you wish, please provide me with the details so I can look up the file....

MERRY CHRISTMAS
John
