Not much of a photographer but here is my new toy...The rings are temp untill my mount comes in...I love this thing!! complete with mag and bipod just over 13lbs so its nice and light for field use...Fit and finish is 100% on this kit...Strait up Barrett 98 Bravo clone....

What is the Total cost for the stock with butt and grip?, doesn't look bad at all, Another ASSKICKING Rifless.
 
:D My first bolt actioned rifle finally arrived today... Yay! A Rem 700 SPS AAC-SD in .308 w/ a 1:10 twist barrel for a .30cal low and slow with the ballistics of a football over 300 yards... and it took its sweet time getting here to boot:p A 1:10 from a 20 inch barrel should be a good choice for supersonic 175's and subsonic use with medium weight round-nose rounds. Just waiting on couple more parts to get here so I can start to put this...

Initial thoughts were to go FDE but I remembered an old pic of a rifle I'll never be able to own and used it as some inspiration... a little black steel and walnut of the HK PSG-1.

So I hunted to either make or buy a PSG-1 style walnut grip w/ palm rest. I'm too cheap to pay for one... so far anyway... from Nill Griffe and was hoping to find someone who could make one. Grips4U makes a style but its for righties only and I wanted an ambi with stippling. I even considered a Ergo Tactical 4055 but Wolverine was out of stock and I can't find anyone in the US willing to ship as its considered a 'Tactical' item. I ended up convincing a guy who makes grips for the G3 in the states to adjust the style to fit the AR grip of the MDT-21

So far it's kitted out with the following;

I've had some questions about maintenance for the Tac21 chassis system, especially from the guys that ordered early and manuals were not yet complete. we do have the manuals available for download in PDF on our website, mdttac.com, on the products page. maintenance is covered in there. What I do personally is get WD40 or G96(smells better) and spay it all down, especially after a rainy day. this will make sure your action is protected. then I blast it with the airhose or wipe the excess with a rag. and your done. hope this helps and keep the pics coming. regards,

Chassis length

Can somebody post a measurement from the rear of the chassis to tip of barrel after the stock has been removed. Please include barrel length.

with the stock not installed the chassis is 30inches....with the tail piece removed to get the bolt out its 29.5inches ...I have a 20inch barrel
 
Ar type ergo grip with palm rest - Try robert rtg. Calling them is the best way.

Nice rig! I really like the way it turned out with the PSG-1 styled grip, where would one find something like that? Good job, let us know how it shoots!!!
 
Well after an almost 4 month wait I have all the parts and can finally build this thing.

Here's what it started out as:
Remington 700P
Action trued and worked
Badger bolt knob
M40 recoil lug
Pac-Nor 6R dual cryo bbl
Bushnell elite 4200 Tactical 10-24 X 50


Parts all laid out and ready to roll.

Start of stripping it, I hadn't cleaned it in about 350ish rds so I took the opportunity to do it while I was taking it apart.

MOTHER F'R I forgot about the M40 recoil lug, it won't fit into the action housing. I called a couple of gunsmiths around the province and it was 4-8 weeks waiting.

(Hey Rick (ATR) this is the problem I called you about. Managed to rectify it)

I wound up (after trying to track down a machinist) going to Home Depot and buying the 1/16" cutting wheel for a dremmel. I cut the majority of the extra out and then used a rotary file to clean it up and fit it.

After some bluing it looks pretty good.

Action housing installed, Timney trigger installed, trigger housing installed Panther Tactical grip installed. I was waiting on the epoxy to harden in the buffer tube. I installed a mercury recoil suppressor.

I found out when I was pretty much finished that my scope mounts are too short so I will have to get some new ones tomorrow and get it mounted up properly.

Not sure if I'm going to leave the Versa-Pod backwards or not. I kind of like it backwards and not hanging out in front so far.
