Thanks for the positive messages. The best way to show your support for $399.00 M-14S rifles is by buying one when they come in - or, as Hungry and other '14ers (who are not affiliated with Marstar in any way) will say:
"Don't buy a $399 M-14. Buy TWO!"
The above quote is actually very good advice: how many of us wish we'd stocked up on $75 "full wood" Enfields, $199 Garands, etc.? I have mine and am seriously considering getting another.
As for rumours the M-14S is no longer being produced, I won't speculate on future availability - much as someone else in my position might be tempted to create a little 'buyer panic' to boost sales I'd rather not. These will however definitely not be around forever especially at our advertised price (which hasn't changed in around five years).
Keep the following in mind:
- The Chinese won't tool up a plant to produce something unless they receive a minimum order of 5,000 units to justify the cost of configuring the machinery to fill the order.
- Chinese-made firearms are currently not importable into the United States due to a trade embargo. The world's largest civilian market for semi-auto M-14 and AR-15 type rifles is therefore closed to them.
- Say what you want but the reality is sinking money into 5,000 units of one rifle
for the Canadian market (we're talking 'cash and carry') would result in waiting much, much longer than is acceptable for a return on one's investment.
- Your other choice for an M-14 type rifle is $1,800.00+. Opinions about the M1A vs. the M-14S have already been expressed elsewhere in this thread.
- Only one Canadian company offers the M-14S for $399.00. Yes, we are a 'for profit' business but no, we did not 'offer them for $200.00 less than the competition and pocket an extra $200.00 per rifle.' We felt nothing beats offering a fair price and a written warranty: the amount of publicity we received as a result is proof there is method to our madness
As for the anticipated arrival of our shipments, I wouldn't worry about missing it if you're a regular on this site and on ours. News will travel fast once we've received our Norinco shipment.
Feel free to give us a call with your enquiries and may you have a safe and fun shooting season.
