the official "next M305 shipment arrival" thread

Mine arrived today. I don't think the stocks look to bad, oily as sin and soft as toffee, but they don't look bad. The rest of the rifle is nice, barrels seem properly indexed. The case, sling and cleaning kit was a classy touch! Kudo's to Marstar and good work! You'll get more of my business.

Now howabout sponsering CGN?:D

Probably not the place for it, but since everyone who's M14 savy is looking at this thread....

My rifle came with one 5 round and two 5/20 rounders. The 5/20 can be inserted/removed with little effort, but the 5 rounder no longer locks in place.

I tried giving it a little love tap with the butt of my hand, and was rewarded by getting the magazine stuck in the mag well. Took over an hour to get the damn thing out, and it still wont lock in place.

I cant figure out why the 20's are so easy but the 5r is a pain. Any ideas?

I am a little miffed that I ordered 2 M305's and 2 pistols and my order has been back burnered. I thought normally in business volume orders take priority. I ordered early as well.

3 rifles and 3 pistols for me, plus 5 types of ammo AND various accessories. MAYBE in a couple or three weeks I was told today, when they called for my card info (again). Been told 'next week' for the last couple of weeks. Well, they're busy I guess. So long as I get em (soon), but it makes you wonder though.

POCKET FISHERMAN;
Here we go again with theories, how do you know your order has been "back burnered." ??
We do not practice this, we fill ALL orders in the sequence received....

However did you ever consider the fact that maybe, just maybe, we were waiting for the registrations to come back from the cfc on the restricted firearms ? They have been running far behind lately....

Would you have prefered we ship the rifles and then the pistols when they were ready ? Thereby almost doubling your shipping costs ?

I guess we simply can't win ??????????????

JohnOne.

I am not really that miffed about it. Just impatient I guess because my credit card has not even been charged yet.

Sorry if I upset you. I have put my mouth on safe now. :D

MarStar has always given me good service. I will continue to send you my biz!

JohnOne,

Ditto. Like I said, as long as I get them. I just hate that nagging feeling you'll run out before my order gets filled. I know you're doing everything possible, and I have never had a problem corresponding by phone or email, with you or the others. I'm simply stating what I was told when the shop called me (not the other way around). I accepted the fact of the paperwork snafu when we discussed bundling the pistols with the same order. Like the rest, just impatient. Nothing meant as a slight.

i'm not sure if i had exactly the same problem,i had issues with both 5/20 rounders i ordered with mine not locking in mag well.it ended up being the rear locking tab on the mag needing a little amount of filing.my 5 rounder that came with the rifle was fine.upon trying lock both 5/20 rnders i noticed the finish on the rear tab was coming off were it was contacting the inside of the receiver.it took only a small amount of filing to get the mags to lock properly.its nice now with the benefit of the mags not rattling when locked. i'll add a picture when i can.

At long last my M305 finally has shown up at my doorstep. Nice touch with the extras!
My only regret is why didn't I order a couple of extra M305s. Oh well will have to settle for the two that I have till the next shipment comes in.
John, thanks for the great service that you guys provided, the wait was worth it !

Had the new M-305 out to the range for the first time tonight...gotta love the "first shot squirt" of cosmoline on my glasses - guess all the Gun Scrubber and cleaning doesn't replace complete disassembly :)

Is it just an isolated incident, or do ALL of these rifles require the front sight to be waaaaaay over to the right (part of it hanging over the edge) on the base?

Just curious, not really an issue of QC for me, just the appearance is off-putting seeing the sight way over there.

Would doing the vise and wrench thing on this for maybe a 2mm turn affect headspacing at all??

It will affect headspace but the question is how much will it be affected? I think Hungry and Skullboy still make the offer to check empty brass that you shoot to find out your headspace. PM either of them.

Hungry here: Yes, send me 5 pcs of fired brass in the smallest padded envelope. 2 local stamps will get them to me. PM me for directions.
