The old tape over muzzle trick

Electrical tape has always worked for me, but now that I am using Hornady VMAX bullets, I'm wondering if it will affect the bullet?

The bullet will never touch the tape due to the column of compressed air that is pushed ahead of the bullet. The style of bullet does not change this. Holy crap, 2005, now there's a flash from the past.

I was wondering about the little finger condoms, i wonder if they would blow in to a balloon on a high speed camera ?

Never used anything. Muzzle down carry, and inspect if dropped.

My bore is always taped. The water bottle has some extra wrapped on it just in case. It has never effected the poi in my experience.

Finger Cotts for me.....cheap to buy and they make for some pretty childish jokes at the camp....

I use finger condoms with a wrap of electrical tape tokeep in on tighter.
I shot groups with it and reapplied the condom after each shot.
Nothing changed, POI remianed the same.
Gun was a muzzle braked 338 WM

I use finger cotts only when the weather is such that I want to keep say, some of our wet west coast 'liquid sunshine' from entering the barrel.

After the first shot has been fired while hunting I usually am finished worrying about water or snow getting in the barrel. By that point I'm usually more concerned with cutting meat and packing back to the truck

I was using duct tape, but found it very difficult to get out of the meat !
