The Ontario Deer hunt {gun} begins Monday Nov3

The weather in 57 is for 14 and rain on both Monday and Friday ... the rain goes away for the rest of the week but the warm temperatures stay..

Guess I'll just be sitting on the deck...

Like deer hunters all over the province, my house is now decorated with piles of gear, and piles of food for the deer camp.
In fact, my house has becomes a series of trails between these piles. Both my wife and I hunt, and we also get the food for camp, so it's a big deal.
I'm loading my Jeep and trailer early Saturday, I wonder where I will sit.
Good luck everyone, and see you in two weeks.

lol My house is the same... Saturday is prep day... Get the quad together and on the trailer in the garage...get any last min food together and start packing the jeep... My favorite time of the year!

Off to 74b on Sunday for a few days. Was hoping for snow, but looks like it will be warm. Oh well, still cant wait. :D

Gettin ready...piles of last minute stuff. Weekend weather looks GOOD...next week...NOT so good :(.
Good luck to everyone. Lets see some pics too.:D

Good luck to all. Heading out to WMU 80 for a week. Weather sure looks crappy for deer hunting, 7 C lows and 15 C highs right thru to Thursday and 25 km/h south winds. Oh well atleast we won't be cold on stand. I guess we'll have to make freezer arrangements also because those temps won't allow for an outdoor meatpole.

Hey all

I too am heading to hunt camp for the deer open on Monday. Heading out tomorrow. Best of luck to all hunters! Be safe out there.

Good luck!

Crap:eek: I still have a ton of stuff to get ready for my 8:00 am pick up. Looks like it is going to be shorts and t-shirt weather in WMU 47, Port Loring area:D

Three more sleeps:dancingbanana:

I have been hauling a$$ all week after work to make sure the tree stands are still in good shape and put up a few extra ones. Also cleaning out the shop for the 10 people that are going to be staying here. I am torn between wanting it cold and a couple of days of warm so the farmers can get some corn off. Party starts tomorrow evening with some bow hunting in the swamp with a couple of the guys and then camp prep on Sunday with everyone. We are hunting in 85 this year.

Good luck to all. Safe hunting.

Good luck to everyone. It's a 3Hr drive for me, and no contact with the outside world, unless I drive to the pay phone. (Cells don't work)
We will have beagles again this year, and that will be great, as it's been a couple of years since we hunted with dogs. Most of the local camps use dogs, so we can keep the deer stirred up, and moving. Thick brush. Hunting without dogs can be done, but, mostly you are relying on some other camps dogs when you do it.
Yes, if conditions are right, you might get lucky, and call one in, but, it doesn't seem to work well in our area for some reason.

Interesting, that's what we do with looser hunters that butt in on our land & hunt by themselves because they can't be civil enough to join a gang or guys that don't treat our dogs civil!
:evil::50cal:

Yeah but I'M being serious. I'm under orders from the landowners to shoot anything that isn't theirs.

I'm not against hunting deer with dogs and would actually like to try it sometime. But out here it would be an expensive proposition with a rapid turn over of dogs.
