The reason you bought your last handgun?

The reason I bought my last handgun.....simple, cause I love the Glock 21 :)

I've owned it twice before...sold the last one to finance my new Colt 01991 .45. But I missed my Glock 21 so much I saved up and bought another. 3rd times a charm lol. A new Glock 21 SF 3rd gen and it's amazing. Austrian made with older Tennifer finish, a TRUE GLOCK....a 3rd gen AUSTRIA rollmarked G21 SF

4 boxes of American Eagle 230 grain FMJ at the range as a break in introduction, 200 rounds of flawless operation and super tight groupings at 25 yards, drove home with a smile :)

11 year old thread resurrection! Must be a record!
Anyways....for me it's nostalgia. The last guns I bought were all ones I shot in the 80s. Just remembering the old times and seeing if guns have really improved the last 30 years.

Holy crap Import. This is the second 11 year dead thread you revived

Actually, I just checked... Import revived 6 threads from 2005. Wtf? Obviously I have too much time on my hands to check that out, but not as much time as Import

Lol, necro thread, but I still feel compelled to contribute. I bought my latest pistol because it was so cheap, even my wife would have kicked me in the balls if I didn't buy it. Stainless 4.2" GP100, 6 speedloaders, ammo and a holster for $400.

That's a good reason the price I mean.. lol

Last handgun I bought was an Alfa Proj 22lr/22wmr. Reason I bought it was I wanted a revolver for more accuracy over my auto's that I could plink with cheap 22lr but able to convert to 22wmr for bit more horsepower. No regrets short of the 22wmr has some nasty cylinder gap blast at times. 22wmr is loaded with slower powders for a rifle and that 6" barrel and cylinder gap just does not like the round.

To be perfectly honest... I panicked.

I'd been looking at the Sig P226 Elite Stainless in 9mm for a while. The local gun shops had plenty of them, so I figured I could take my time deciding if I really really wanted it. In the space of about a month, the local stores started selling out of them. Most have you have probably noticed that supply comes in waves. A wholesaler will get a batch in and suddenly all of the retailers have them in stock. Once that stock runs out, however, it can be a year or longer before the wholesaler gets another batch in. I didn't want to wait a year so I panicked and bought the last one available at the time. Of course, a couple of months after I bought it, my favourite local store gets it back in stock for $100 cheaper than what I paid (sigh).

I wish I was more panicky. I was looking at the Ruger SR1911 a couple of years ago when it was $750. When it went up to $850 I figured "It's just the exchange rate, I'll wait for the price to come down." Then it went to $950. Now it's closing in on $1200 and my excuse is "I'm not paying $1200 for a $750 gun".

Because it was a beautiful old Sig P225. Not very often you see those for sale on here. Interestingly enough, at the time I bought it on the EE, there was another one for sale as well. Almost bought both...

Because I find the .357 SIG round seductive. The ammo is too scarce to justify buying a gun in the caliber, but a .40 will convert to it easily enough. So I got a Glock 22 in .40 S&W, a Lone Wolf conversion barrel for 40-9mm, and when the opportunity I'll grab a .357 barrel for it. I like the idea of a 3 caliber gun.
