A couple of old Remington Model 722s. A 222 Rem Mag dated October 1958 and a 308 Win dated Jan 1960. I refinished the 308 and the 222 RM is original.

Beauties!! Good job on the refinishing!

Never hada 722 but they look like such great rifles

I bought mine from EE a while back. It had been rebuilt and updated with a new SS barrel and Magpul drop mag plus refinish. very nice job done by professional smith. With the repl barrel no 'exact' date code but SN puts it somewhere in 1960. PS - in .308.

Thats cool Buck1950!

There was a nice 308 in the EE a while back that I kick myself for not having bought :(

The 722/721 rifles are interesting. First iteration of the Walker trigger, with a sear and safety cam. Don't ever break an extractor.
I recall a 721 I should have acquired many years ago. Plain jane rifle in .300 H&H.

A July 52’ in .300Sav as purchased a few yrs ago from a LGS. I might someday swap out the scope and rings it came with, but for now period correct.

Or get a bunch of extractors from Numrich.

The US$54 ones that are out of stock?

Well, no. That'd just be silly, wouldn't it?

Magnum users might be out of luck but there are plenty of repros of the ones for standard calibers. Might be able to modify it to work with 222 as well. But still an option for lots of folks either way.

Thanks. That’s antique oil wet sanded for about 6 coats.
The gun was in good shape but the stock finish was old beyond saving.

Two very fine looking 722's you have there Buckmastr. Last summer I happened to acquire a nice little mid century (1956?) Remington 722 in .244 as well. It appears like it's had minimal use over it's 70 year life span, and that when it was purchased it's intended targets would have been pretty small, and far away as it's wearing an old 12X AO El Paso weaver. Pretty cutting edge tech for the day!! Both the scope, and the rifle continue to perform just fine, but finding brass is a little elusive. After a little searching I ended up with a nice little supply and threw together a few to see how the old girl performed. She really liked the 75 grainers I picked up, but didn't do to bad with some 100 grain bullets either, even with it's 1:12 barrel. All in all I'm pretty impressed with these fine old rifles from back in the day.
