Well, I made it out to the range both saturday and Sunday this weekend. The new xt -22 is working out really well and the more I shoot it the better it gets it seems, I had a few issues with it failing to extract a fired round the odd time initially but a good scrubbing of the chamber with something more aggresive than hoppe's and a small tweak to the extractor with a pair of pliers fixed that right up. Its shooting some decent groups at 50 yards and it seems to be a bargain at 200.00
I did some shooting with the cz's and marlin and compared targets with unaltered and altered ammo again both days. I would say that group size is conservatively 20-25 % smaller with altered blazer in both of the cz's and altered win 333 in the marlin consistently with an almost complete eradication of fliers within the groups.
None of my rifles do well with federal bulk, American eagle or winchester wildcat. They all seem to prefer win 333/555 and CCI Blazer with the dark grey bullet (speer manufacture not federal)
and so far the best groups consistently were shot with the DRock tool and the dished hollowpoint semi wadcutter style bullet in the cz's with the Waltz EPS tip a close second.
I have done some testing at 100 yards with a few 5 shot groups hovering around an inch or just over ,many more between 1.25 to 1.75 inches with the altered stuff, I havent run any unaltered stuff at 100 yet as Im convinced after 2 bricks of ammo down range that the bump die altered stuff is just more accurate in my rifles. Im using a 3x9 scope with no parralax adjustment on the cz's , an old K4 weaver on the marlin and am not some type of benchrest wizard either.
So to summarize , mission accomplished and I now know what works best in each rifle and I have better cheap bulk ammo for bustin bunnies and ditch chickens with.
