How about a soldier that can actually hit a moving target, I am not convinced a shotgun would have helped with all that gun fire and not one round struck the drone.....

Drones aren't armoured. It would take very little to bring one down. There is no need for a massively powerful buckshot round. Whatever goose hunters use would be the best choice. Drones are roughly the size of a goose' body and way less tough. The goal for anti drone defence would be to hit the thing from as far away as possible.
The commercial drones and their derivatives aren't, but some of the purpose built military drones are indeed armored, and pretty well at that.
I've seen one smaller drone being tested that was impervious to birdshot.
There's also footage of an larger armored Ukrainian drone that also had explosive reactive armor installed that managed to survive a hit from an explosive Russian FPV drone.

Had nothing to do with armour of the drone, more about distance and wind.

Modern goose hunting guns and ammo are able to take down a bird many times the size and mass of most drones. I'm sure they would work just fine and are cheaper and easier to find and supply
This is a super interesting idea. Makes me want to try it.

10ga is a little pricey. Rolling your own make life easy. .
That mossberg 590M would make reloading easy.
I was incorrect in my suggestion for goose hunting ammo was incorrect because goose hunters must use non-toxic shot. The Hevi shot and TSS ammo is ludicrously expensive. A much better option for drone defence would be lead #4 or #2 shot, which is much more reasonably priced.
I've used #4 shot on pigeons and it works really well. Pigeons are a decent drone analog because they fly really fast and they jink and weave when they are being shot at. I discovered the hard way that #8 shot is ineffective on pigeons. I've seen birds soak up 2 and 3 shots and fly away. The larger #4 brings them down very efficiently. I'm sure it would work just as well on drones.

This be the only shotgun I'd really desire for most scenarios. Talk about fun for clays at distance on practice shoots.

Not to nitpick, but wouldn't you want that light to be at the front of the handguard rather than in the middle and have the front sight behind it?
