The Single Shot Shotgun

I have a single shot Tolley 12 gauge I started using last year when grouse hunting. Love it!

What a slick looking rig, canvasback. Wish I had one like it.

I concur, the Tolley is nice indeed!

canvasback - I haven't taken the time to search....were there more and complete images of the shotgun in that doubles photo thread? I would be interested in looking at some closeups of the receiver, fore end etc design. How is the shotgun choked?

most of my younger life , i used a single shot. I found it great when walking along the rabbit trail.

My father always had a single shot, because repeaters are 'expensive'.
Strange, because he always got birds...:p

Blew him away when I bought my Mossberg 500 for 300 bucks though. :p

My father too was from the depression era of 'don't squander your money' and his Coeey Model 84 in 12 gauge was the only one for him.
When I took my first paycheck from my part-time job and purchased an M37 pump action, he was taken quite aback as well!
Foolishly I let that one go in a moment of sheer stupidity. Years later I've certainly made up for the loss of the first Ithaca.

Ahsan, just checked in for a few moments. Will check what was posted before and see if I need to add to the photo array so you can see more of the gun. It very quickly became a real favorite once I brought it home.

The Tolley is a 12 gauge with a single barrel of 29" inches. Choked improved cylinder with 2 3/4" chamber. The gun weighs 5 lbs even (sorry I lied, 5 lbs, 0.2 oz.).
The Tolley is in great condition with lots of case colour left. Reviewed the gun with Stelios from SCG and he thinks the chambers and choke are original.
