The SL8 Mods, Info and FAQ Thread

Hi everyone, I'm a proud new owner of an SL8 and have find this thread filled with invaluable information. Thanks to CNADNSL8-5 for starting and keeping the information coming! I was wondering if you were still providing the extended bolt release for sale?

OK thanks, I guess I'll order it from Spain

If you both are looking to order from spain you could put your orders together and split the shipping between you. There is also another member I know of who is looking to order a part, so that would be 1/3 the shipping cost each.

I'd like one. if you guys decide to place the order you can count me in.

does anyone have one? I can fab them up if I has one to work with

Ordered one about 2 1/2 minutes after posting two days ago. All in price is $116C. Kind of crappy to pay that much for a rail that sells for around $30-40US, but whatever. Sorry for not going in with others, but didn't think of it at the time. Also, would just end up paying to ship the items separately around Canada once they arrive. Prob cheaper, but don't really care for the hassle to save $20. (Shipping total was $30C)

I would like to mirror this comment as well, thanks so much for putting this all together. Don't think my rifle would have come together without this thread. Will be using the tutorial here to be installing the BCK as well, once the rifle and parts show up. Thanks again.

What a mess. Broke the recoil buffer backing plate (Part 51 in HK SL8-5 manual, part ID number 218 447) when trying to drift out the roll pin to swap plate/recoil buffer to hera adapter. Anyone know where I can find one of these?
*edited* Got lucky, Wolverine helping out!

Finally got a C stock that makes it "manageable"

It looks like Coretac solutions may have changed their mind about supplying the Spuhr magwells to civilian users. Their site lists them as "in stock" and there is no longer the Special order Mil, LE only notice.

I think it look a lot like the other brand but since it was for a G36 and since HK was making their own magwell adapter for AR15 mags, i figured i would order the one from HK. Completely worth the wait. Top quality product like everything else they make.

Sorry for the ####ty cell phone picture. Its all i have on hand at the moment.

Someone may have mentioned this already but Spuhr also lists X-reload ( info@x-reload.com) as a Canadian distributor. I contacted them awhile back and they confirmed they have access to the Spuhr magwells for $345.
