Wow... just looking around on the site once a day, it's crazy how fast a Garand goes... I don't even get to see a price or pictureWhat's the average price for a decent Garand going for now anyhow?
Red Dawg said:Because I went to a gun show just this past weekend - one guy didn't want to sell his because it was a collective item (but I knew it has been refinished... liar) and another fella wanted $1200 for 35###### Garand... but it was in good shape. It had a P on the stock, but there was a square around it instead of a circle... kinda wish I knew what that meant :-s

If it's definitely a US made rifle you're after, many of the Danish Garands are of US origins, though very few of them are still in original condition. They are close enough that the US Civilian Marksmanship Program is repairing them and selling them to qualified individuals in the states. Even in the US, Garands are'nt cheap. The same thing can be said for the rest of the milsurps down there, anything that I've seen down there is usually priced at what it's worth, A $100 rifle is just that. A VG or better grade is every bit as expensive in the US as it is here. If you're really looking for a decent Garand, forget about 5 year old priceing. If you see a decent rifle at a gunshow or advertised in Canadian Access to Firearms monthly paper, don't procrastinate, contact the seller for a descriotion. When it comes to milsurps, you snooze, you lose. bearhunter
J.P. said:You can build one for less than 600??? Ummm No. Please show me a price list of parts in CANADA that totals under six. In fact, why don't you sell me a complete unassembled working parts set for 600. Come on now, my wallet is burnin up here. Reality check: winchester reciever 150, SA reciever 100, breda reciever 50, comercial barrel short chambered uninstalled, not parked 200us+ new lumber 100+, op rod 75- 150, gas cyl 80-100, sights 100- 150, bolt 100-150, trigger group 100, OOOPS, we went over! and we're still missing over 20 other little bits peices and springs. Oh, and as far as I've noticed, prices on this site are a good bit less than current gunshow prices.
