The Sterling Arms TR Intro..... Well hello world... and DONE

We were going to wait and have a fancy launch in a week or so, but given the antics of the RCMP, we decided we needed to do this today!

Retail price for a receiver set is $799 https://www.theshootingedge.com/cproduct/6395/sai-tr-(upper--lower-receiver

Do we expect to sell any? Not really.... but when Trudeau decides to cut us a cheque 2 years from now, it will be that much LARGER because we have hundreds of these in stock being finished up.

Was this the real intended retail price or inflated to get more money during the buy back. If it is inflated I don’t really blame you.

above he was trying to get it for sale in the high 5s or low 6's, flushed out 8 ...
decent compared to previous alternative, still high for material/machine, but also not complaining given the fight ahead of these retailers

Typically how much extra would it cost to build the complete rifle ? Would you sell all the parts that are needed to build said complete rifle and if so how much would I be looking at ?

I asked a similar question a few posts up and was given this answer:

All depends on our tastes... but a modest build should be around $4-500 and a super nice build with a bling barrel; under $1000

Its not a modern sporter, it's based on it but since when does that immediately make it the same gun. And don't go trying to apply logic to their system, there is none, and its time we start using that to OUR advantage. This gun was not mentioned in the OIC and meets all criteria for NR as per the firearms act. Good enough for me im not going to do their job for them and neither should you.

Correct, if this was an AR15 variant it would have been listed in the OIC - it wasn't.

As numerous others have mentioned the FRT is not law, it's an opinion, one that has recently and wrongly been changed by the RCMP in regards to the ATRS MS/MV/MH and MDI SLR.

Unless the OIC specifically states "ATRS Modern Sporter and all variants" as a banned class of guns, as many people as want to could make clone receivers with different names and sell them. Same with the MDI SLR, one could make an exact clone lower under a different company and sell it. And they would be legally right to do so until the RCMP issue a FRT and label it as prohibited, at which point you should stop.

This is the best explanation I've seen yet.

So for two years someone could be manufacturing these guns, change the name everytime the rcmp prohibits it and end up selling thousands of guns to the gov with their buyback scheme ?

By buyback, you mean tax credit, correct? Not much point in that for anyone interested in commerce.

They are prohibited already

Due to the fact that the RCMP is currently carrying AT LEAST 3 sets of books, one of which mere mortals (or even dealers) are not supposed to see, and the one set that he is allowed to see says that the MH/MV/MS is not prohibited, and given that this would be a "variant" of those guns, I'm not entirely sure how you came to that conclusion. Incidentally, do you know what happens to anyone else who carries parallel sets of books?

I fully support this.

I will support any semi auto that comes to market in these interesting times.

Yes. They get tossed into jail. Just ask the folks at enron and livent.

If your referring to the Cmmg 22 conversion it is too long for a Sporter. Needs a machinist to shorten the overall length by about 3/16 of an inch. Works perfect then. Atrs has done it in the past.

Where is the 3/6 taken from? the front of the man rail or does it need to come off the back so the rear spring plate is removed the main rail shortened and the rear spring plate re-attached? Would really appreciate any details you could provide.

Sorry but I'm really unfamiliar with this receiver design. Does it take an AR bolt and barrel? Gas tube? Thanks guys.

his rifle takes an AR15 bolt and barrel... and gas tube... all the regular AR15 parts.

I have no idea abut the CMMG kit sorry.

also.....

No more custom / specific serial #'s... The team in the back are trying to accommodate, but I have really messed with the system so you'll get what you get... sorry.
