The STG-44 (.22cal)

Anybody here besides me still plinking with thier STG? After getting my plastic mags broke in, the rifle is very fun.

Still plinking with mine and I do not consider selling it! It's a very accurate 22LR carbine with iron sights. Honestly, I've never had a problem with those "plastic" mags. In reality they are made of reinforced plastic and are very sturdy.

Mines been good too just the odd feed issue with the mag, I think it might be the pin that activates the bolt hold that causes the missfeed as it's usually the last round that does it
Fun gun but wish it was in the proper caliber

Mine is fun to shoot. I use to own an original MP44 and have to say ammo is way cheaper. The weight is very close to the original.

I've been eyeing one of these, and have handled one at the superstore that starts with 'C'. They look like fun, and the only common criticism I've seen in some reviews, namely its weight, isn't a factor since I'd rather resort to my good old 10/22 for backpacking. The 'Auf Halten' factor is off the charts <g>, and while I know this wouldn't work, I wish that after properly disabling the item in question (removal of feed lips, etc.) could 'sleeve' a .22LR mag in an original casing. If GSG made one style of 'realistic metal' mag for this, even if it was a pain in the *** to use and cost twice as much, I'd buy one for the added 'looks cool' factor.

I had one. Sold it a few months later after about 2000 rounds. Aside from the odd mis-feed even with most major mid range brands of ammo, the biggest thing I was not impressed with was that shooting with the barrel resting on a bag sent my shots 2-3 feet high at 50 years. There's too much play where the barrel seats in the receiver.

Love mine. It has gotten out more lately. I put a cheap red dot on it and it is blast plinking metal flip targets!! Mine used to have a few failures but lately just blasts through the mags. Won’t be on the sell list anytime soon!!
