The SVT 40 Tokarev ***updated april 12th***

Just got a 1941 Tula manufacture SVT today and havent been able to stop playing with it. Cant wait to take it to the range. I got it with a PU scope and mount but am unsure if either or both are reproductions.

so I finally got my 1941 Tula out to shoot, it Finn marked

I got it less a magazine so its been sitting for about a decade. But I finally broke down and got a mag, one of the repo mags that had been modified to feed properly.

well the mag feeds fine but after 4 rounds the rear lugs both sheered off and I was left holding the mag in place so I could shoot off the rest of the ammo I brought

I was fortunate to find both of the lugs so I'll be re-attaching them.

Ha I have at least 4 of those mags they fed great but none made it past 5-10 rounds. I finally got them welded but have not tested. In fact both of mine don’t get a lot of use. Mostly due to corrosive ammo and a pain in the butt to clean. Also have not had a ton of luck on accuracy but have not put many rounds through. One day! One of them and the best one with a notch I picked up for $200. Bore shiny as the day is new. Really should just sell it but what goes on never seems to come out.

tried to solder the lugs back on

didn't work

then I lost a lug

so I made a new one and got the MIG welder out and now its working perfectly

I have looked throw all the topic but I have not seen any post regarding drum mags for SVT-40/AVT-40.
Yes, they was extreemly rare. I know only several people from Ukraine who have such drum mugs.

Criminals running with highly collectible Podolsk rifles are the worst. One gangster on TikTok bragged he does all the robberies with his 1945 made SVT. Animals. We all feel so safe now.

Arguably the first time they sort of got one right.

Even if by COMPLETE accident.
SVT has killed more people than my AR ever has.

Some of those victims of the SVT were even reported to be armed combatants.
