The entire gun, except the mag, looks brown to me. I know it's not my monitor 'cause Hypa's looks fine.

^^^ it's probably the light... Looks different but probably black. The AFG looks a little..... Odd, without a rail.

IT does have a rail. It's a short rail. The bottom of the lower T97 is not level so mounting options are limited. It's very solid a feels great and thats what is important right? If you have a better mounting method please share some pictures?

It is the Magpul, and really makes the rifle feel better in the shooters hands.

I finished the FTU upgrade, and am looking for an optic now.

That two tone with the green looks really nice. Good job.

Yes mine was very tight also. I wrapped the head of a small hammer with electrical tape and gently tapped them down. It actually took very little effort!

Mine wouldn't budge at all until I filed them down a bit.

I put my front sight on first and then realized the rear sight also needed to be installed from the front. I had one hell of a time getting that front sight off so I tried gentle hammer taps and it worked great.

What length rail did you use to mount it?

i got the magpul rail and had to cut off about 1/4 inch off each end...really easy cause its plastic. then it fits, just measure it on your gun thats all. really easy

I'm thinking about getting the m14.ca rails for the 90 degree slots. They're a touch pricey though.

Just got my T97 barrel threaded and new flash hider installed. Jayson at Xtremegun did it.

how hard/complicated was it to be done? Would any gunsmith be able to do this?

Here is a new pic snapped with the Bushnell AR223 optic. As far as I'm concerned, my T97 is done now.

As long as the damn trigger bar doesn't pop out of the pin, I will be happy.

That two tone with the green looks really nice. Good job.

What length rail did you use to mount it?

I used the rail that came with the Magpul foregrip. I needed a spacer because of the foregrip drop, but was able to find a nice aluminum piece in my bolt bin.

I don't have access to the rifle right now, but if I remember correctly, the rail looked just like this piece here.

Tri-Rail. Went with the M14.ca rails as they're the same design as the top one.
