The T97 Thread!

So I have finally attached the foregrip and I must say, it is an excellent upgrade and definitely makes the rifle more comfortable to maneuver. Whatchall think?

Okay, so I've looked at it ... I just do not get what the point of it is -- does it actually help you hold the rifle more comfortably? (compared to an angled grip on the forward lower rail, that is.)

Ive always held it around there as it is, so it was just natural for me to get it. That and it not being very expensive so I figured why not.

I found the less steep angle more forward of a typical one was a bit uncomfortable to me, so otherwise I just held it horizontally.

I always held it at the trigger guard as well, but now that I have mounted my new foregrip, its at a much better spot for me. I just couldnt hold it normally as it ginked my wrist really good after a few mags.

This makes me want to get another T97 so bad. And i have been very vocal about them being not worth the money. Im ruined and soon to be poorer.

Guess I will just have to watch the ee for a good deal in the new year so I will only be poorer.

I got that one with the FTU (no LHG) for $865 from a Facebook group lol

With the LHG and angled grip all in I'm at $1335

What facebook group? I'm in a few and haven't seen a lot of T97 guns or gear.

Canada wide gun auctions. Another FTU T97 sold for $920 a couple days ago. Most is overpriced junk though

If I could find one for that I would take it. Ideally I want to be in sub $900 with an FTU or sub $700 with out. Or sub $1100 with the FTU and LHG. That will be tough, but I am lucky finding deals.

Al flahertys I think had non FTU new for $830 last week

Ordered LHG yesterday, hopefully it'll get here fairly soon so I can get out and have fun before the real winter starts...

Had it out for the first time on the weekend, seems to shoulder nice, with the vortex SE 1-6 was easy to shoot. Safety was a PIA for CQB type drills, but that'll be fixed with LHG. Once I get the LHG I will most likley put a vertical grip on it, even tho none of my ARs have one, I have a feeling it will work well for theT97.

I tried a single point sling with a QD mount on the back of the rail and it just doesn't balance properly. I'll have to figure out a single point using the take down pin on the LHG and see if that's gonna balance better or at least good enuf for range/cqb use.

Overall, first impression was fairly good, it worked (always nice), no mag issues with pmags, AA beo or LAR and felt fairly good. It's a bit of a price jump with both the FTU and LHG, but both are quality pieces that will greatly improve the useability of the rifle, so for a decent non-res, it's not too shabby. I just hope the durability of all of the internal parts is up to task, I guess we'll see...

Good to hear! I haven't tried single point sling, went all traditional sling.
Internals seem really durable. I have maybe 3000 through my one with very minimal signs of wear. I even forgot to clean the gas piston for 1000 rounds and didn't even need gas setting 2

The pin I've got in mine for a single point sling works perfectly fine with the LHG ... I found that a traditional sling on the T97 got in the way of getting the rifle to my shoulder.
