Help me settle a difference of opinion: with the muzzle of the T97 held away from the operator, should the top of the gas regulator selector be pointing to the right or to the left for setting '1'?
Here is my current setup: FTU with EoTech 512 and side-flipping Vortex magnifier. Have not shot it yet, but cannot wait. I really want to install a vertical fore grip, but I am terrified of damaging the handguard through incorrect drilling.

Top would be left I believe with the muzzle pointed away.
Order a lower hand guard from T97.ca then it's not a big deal if the old plastic one gets a bit messed up.
49 pages and not a single picture of filed feed ramps.... Can ANYONE that has done their feed ramp post a picture of it please. And possibly the bolt catch mod as well. Thanks.
EDIT, I missed a picture on page 2, has anyone else done this and fixed the "pushed in bullet" issue 100%?
Also, I made 5 dummy rounds and most of the time when cycling manually the ejection port door did not slide all the way forward, I never really noticed this when shooting live ammo, any idea why this would happen?

It's a small dark object beyond my ability to photograph without creating a bloody mess, so I'll try with a diagram..
What was happening with mine was that the bolt hold-open tongue would occasionally hit the back of the casing when inserting the mag and even when it's being cycled to the point of stripping it out of the mag and tilting it up, so when it gets hit by the bolt, the bullet gets jammed into the casing (check the slightest bit of interference with the back of the casing on the "bad" diagram - enough to sometimes bump the cartridge but not enough for a cartridge in the mag to actually make the bolt lock back)
What is supposed to be happening is shown on the "good" diagram:
-The tongue clears the back of the cartridge, so it's hovering just above the mag follower
-As long as there is a round in the mag, the follower will be pushed down and won't engage the tongue
-As the last round is chambered, the follower goes up, pushes the tongue, which raises a little nub that holds the bolt back
What I had to do:
-Shorten the tongue so it clears the back of the casing if inserted all the way back in the mag but can still be pushed up by the mag follower
I guess my lack of success with the SKS conversion to XCR mags project bore SOME fruit as a learning experience

Rubber, instead of filing your bolt hold open, source some gen2 pmags. It seems that it's only the gen3 ones that are causing the headaches.
I took a closer look with all of my mags with dummy rounds loaded and the bolt hold open latch is not in the way, it is well behind the rim of the bullet cases.
I also watched the bullets feed up in the correct path with the stock feed ramp configuration but i may grind it a little bit and polish it anyways.
Other than that, no idea why it rams into the flat surface below the barrel opening every once in a while....
i have done the feedramp mod, fixed some of my problems. ill take pictures when i get home if i remember. i had to bevel the chamber entrance too tho, it was sharp and causing a lot of problems. the biggest difference for me was actually fixing all my mags so that they're tight and dont move around in the magwell. they just barely drop free now and i have no bullet push in issues

Non of my mags actually just "drop" out when I release them, they all need to be pulled out.
Metal or plastic?
All metal, actually not all of themare tight,
1 x factory mag actually drops out with a little help
3 x D&H mags actually do drop free no problem
2 x Norinco AR-15 mags are tight, one is really tough to take out
2 x single Lar-15 mags (orange followers) do not drop free, they are quite snug
2 x coupled Lar-15 mags (orange followers), they do drop free
So the Norc AR-15 ones are super tight and I probably wont take them out shooting anymore. The Lar mags are pretty snug. the factory is snug but not tight and the D&H are a bit sloppy and drop free.
Maybe I should take 2 or 3 hundred rounds out shooting and run a written down extended test on all the mags and check for mag issues instead of rifle issues......

i completely forgot to take pics yesterday... but seeing if its specific mags giving you problems is a good idea, its exactly what i did. all of my sloppy fitting mags were giving me pushed in bullets and all of my snug ones were completely fine. im still convinced it was a combination of all the mods i did that's allowing it to run perfectly now tho.

I think those optics are worth more than the rifle itself.
Nope. Paid $400 for the EoTech (LNIB condition) on the EE, and got the Vortex magnifier from SFRC at $279 + tax. That said, if you wanted to buy those optics from me for the price of a T97FTU, I'll give you my email address for EMT.
NVC , welded, need a good whack with hammer and flat punch around and it will break free, make sure to the pin has been removed. The barrel has no threading. We were able to thread 1/2x28 so will take most AR muzzle devices.

I noticed from your pic posting that your lower arm retaining pin is to be inserted left to right (towards the ejection port). I know it's not a big deal, but thought, you should know in case.
