Beautiful set up by the way.
I noticed from your pic posting that your lower arm retaining pin is to be inserted left to right (towards the ejection port). I know it's not a big deal, but thought, you should know in case.![]()
Has anyone removed or taken off the Flashhider on the T97 before? I heated up the flashhider and got the pin out np. Anyone got pics or first hand experience for the removal of the flashhider? I have a machinest buddy who is going to make me a muzzlebreak.
I been reading that it's press on, wielded and or threaded. Just want to hear from anyone who has actually removed it themselves and how they did it.
i heard there was some problems with different mags in the 14******* serial number guns ???
I don't get what peoples problem is with the flash hider on the T97.
So I was doing some regular cleaning/maintenance today. I was inspecting some of the components as I was putting the rifle back together and I noticed the "tab" part of the recoil spring guide has been experiencing quite a bit of wear on one side of it. It looks like it's being sheared off, but all other components seem fine. Does anyone know what's going on here? I've only put about 300-400 rounds through it (rough estimate)

So a while ago, someone started a thread (that I cannot find now) about his T97 sometimes firing twice with a single pull of the trigger. Well lo and behold, my T97 was behaving in the same way on its first outing yesterday. Specifically, it would sometimes chamber and fire a second round with the bolt staying closed and not ejecting the empty second casing. In addition, it would sometimes make a soft strike on the primer (leaving a visible mark) but not firing. I assume that the firing pin must be still partially forward to be causing this (although I'm not sure why the second casing wouldn't be ejected). This problem seemed to be occurring regardless of which magazine I was using (original mag, LAR, or Beowulf) -- although the smaller capacity of the original mag meant it was only seen once. There may also have been some impact from trigger pull -- the problem seemed to occur more often when I pulled the trigger more softly, whereas a hard pull all the way to the back would be fine.
Here are a couple videos of the problem in action:
So any thoughts? Should I look to see if this can be repaired under warranty or is this just one of the joys of breaking in a new T97?
I have completed the install of the FTU. All went well.
But I have one issue.
I sent the question to T97.ca but did not get a response.
From the instructions:
Check:
Important Note: with the charging handle carrier in the forward locked position, there
must be a 1/16" gap between the rear flat of the carrier and the forward radius of the original
charging handle stub as shown below to avoid unnecessary impact with the back of the carrier.
Mine does NOT have any gap. They are touching. Is there a solution? Do I just file off some of the plastic (Delrin?) from the rear of the carrier to create a 1/16th gap?
Thanks.
