The TAVOR

No, I never really wanted to sell it. I was just fishing, never thought I'd actually get a bite. Part of the reason the deal fell through is I couldn't commit to selling it and gave the guy too much time to come to his senses. ;)

I run with a Tavor in tacical rifle. Cool gun, works great. Best part about it, I can leave my house, and have it in my back seat as a PDW - without getting tackled and arrested by cops.

/win.

Huh???
Last time I was at the range justins1877 was a southpaws . justins1877 are you a right handed shooter now days?

Wow... Satain you remember what hand I shot with? I want your memory!

True, i'm a left handed. I shoot pistol left handed, rifle right handed. They do have a left handed bots for the Tavor for sale, the gun is 100 % ambi.

I'm not concerned with no SWAT team, after all I have a Tavor. :D

I have a question for the Tavor owners. What happen when you shoot with your weak side? do you get the casing on the face? Can you switch the gun easily from the right to the left side, just like an AR?

Very easy to switch sides but you do get a mouthful of hot brass. When I do shoot it off-handed I get brass hitting me just under the corner of the lips.

For a match I recently went to on sunday, I had to tansition several times during the course of fire. Not one case hit me, I didn't even realize it intill someone asked me after I shot the stage.

So, yes.

Support side drills and transitions w/ the Tavor are not an issue- just remember not to 'crowd up' on the sight, and you are GTG.
Weak side (for us righties....) urban prone is a bit of a challenge, but you learn real fast....

I found out quite quickly to keep my mouth shut!
You only need one hot case on your gums...trust me.

The other thing, shoot support using the same shoulder. ( Right )
Seems to work well. You get used to it.

Anyone put an Aimpoint 2x on theirs yet?

I bought my Tavor out of the first batch and it came with a rail (unknown parentage) mounted.
I have susequently stumbled onto an optics combo that works for me.
An Aimpoint ML3 (2MOA dot) on an ARMS mount, using the optional ARMS spacer block ahead of a brand, spankin' new Eotech 3X magnifier in a new, improved FTS (FLip To Side) mount, with quick release ARMS base]

And, at same time, preserving co-witness with the backup irons (plastic!)!

I have a 'Mepro-in-a-bag' that came with the gun...I can't even use it on another unit because of the weird ass base. I tried a buddie's gun with the stock Mepro mounted and couldn't see it working for me as: 1) I couldn't get a decent cheek weld (too low) and
2) the orange dot was very difficult to pick up in sunlight.
