The TAVOR

I heard somewhere that there will be a print article on the Tavor in the upcoming CSSA magazine. I hope the writer doesn't hack on it too badly. You know how some of those writers can be.

I heard that too. I wondered what that guy with the camera was doing in my shop.

Rifles we hope to have by late summer. Depends on the schedule at the factory.
Print advertising starts in June. What that means is we will not have the factory start production until the print ad orders are in. The net got a head start, so will have to wait a bit longer than the ones who see it announced in print.

Tavor Rifle????

I'm on the Canammo sight and looking at the Tavor Rifles! Some how they say they are non-restricted! How is this even possible? It too me looks like a bullpup design! Needless to say I want one bad!

Ok, let me steal this thread. I mean this thread in its original is useless anyway.

Question - is it possible mounting scope behind the red dot? I browsed their military brochure and it shows a little "telescope" mounted behind red dot. Red dot seems a bit too big - 10 MOA its bigger than deer head at 100 yards. Why make precise rifle if sight cannot keep up? Why can't they sell the rifle only, I do not need that close-combat stuff and I think I am not alone.

probably similar to the Aimpoint 3x magnifier... just gives the red dot abit of a boost...

I think the reasoning on the other thread is this is how they are being imported no exceptions, and are therefore being sold as such so Canadaammo doesn't have a bunch of near useless scopes sitting around. I predict a whole bunch of EE activity when these come for those scopes.:D :D

Death-junky Why you always gotta stir it up? I already voted in your poll.:slap:

The current contract with IWI and Mepro is that those guns are sold with the M21, period. As our relationship grows with IWI we MAY be able to offer the gun with only a rail. I can't say for sure.

But what do you need? How much night shooting do you do?

The MARS is a $2000 sight, the M21 is about $800. Do you get a huge imporovement for $1200, not in my opinion. Basically the dot is red vs orange as is a bit brighter. Does it matter? not for 99% of shooters.

night shooting? i though that the m21 worked at night time with pure light from the tritium...

but its just the fact that it's passive that bugs me... i know that solar cells work in a cloudy day, but i do not know if this will, and because of its lack of brightness adjustment, how good the automatic lighting for me (aka, if i feel its too dim, or too bright, then no good) is up in the air....

That is the difference betwen the 2, brightness. But the $1200 difference is it that important to you? You could use the M21 and then swap it for an EOtech if you don't like it.

hmm ok compare another battery powered optic, like the $500 EOTech 552 or a ACOG (if it is available in Canada) to the M21 then they'd win in this aspect...

not to mention that the EOtech got that 1 MOA dot with a 65 MOA ring
