Ok....

I did it, I traded some stuff and some cash and now have a TAR21 - new never fired.

CanAm - Will the IWI rails be here at the same time the new bolts arrive? Since I did not purchase the gun from you directly how do I sign up to get one of the new bolts? is this a warrantee thing or are we purchasing them?

I remember reading that there will be a IWI rail option and also a CanAm (? Canadian) rail option? is this still true? and which will be here first and are there any pics?

Bolts will be sent to the original buyers.

We do not have a date for them as IWI is being a PITA right now regarding sending them. They will not send them until we have been trained on how to install them (Jan/Feb) ??? I am trying to get them to send them before then.

WTF? Since all Tavors are shipped with the firing pin removed we already all know how to install and uninstall the bolt. Is there something so different about the new bolts that you need to be re-trained?

That sounds like BS coming out of Israel...

Or is this installation stuff is about the left-handed ones ? This is a little more complicated.
 
The installation is very simple. The micro has just gone into production. Here is the release:

IDF (Israel Defence Force) PRESENTS: The New Weapon of the Special Units
The Givaty Special Unit was chosen to be the first unit to receive the newest rifle in the IDF, the Micro Tavor. This week the class of March 2008 received this prestigious rifle which will replace gradually the Micro UZI in the IDF's special units.

By the end of September the IDF launched the Micro Tavor, or as it's international name "X-95".
The officer who presented the avowedly was no other thanGeneral, Head of Central Command, Gad Shamni, who arrived wit it to the polygon and shot at the targets.

In the Israeli Ground (Land) Forces was decided to broaden the use of the rifle to all the special units in the IDF, for this purpose a pilot program was opened for the reconnaissance platoons combatants. This is to evaluate the capabilities and contribution to combat scenario with emphasis on the urban area combat.

Its size makes it an expert on the urban areas
This week the class of March 2008 received the Micro Tavor for anti terror combat training.

"Is a rifle manufactured by the Israeli Company IWI" commented an IDF officer. "Its weight is only 2.9Kg and has special attributes. In addition to supplemental instruments is an accurate assault rifle, its size makes it an expert on the urban areas. Its firing test will be with the Givaty special Unit that will evaluate its attributes thoroughly."

The officer added that the Micro Tavor has a special mechanism which enables the soldiers to use two different calibers: 5.56 mm and 9 mm. "The diversity of the calibers becomes possible whilst changing the barrel which takes only a few minutes" explained the officer. "Today the Special Units soldiers train with the UZI's for the urban area combats and assault rifles for open areas. The Micro Tavor rifle might change this problem due o its dual functionality, because of the dual caliber. Thus, increasing the professional capability of the soldier significantly.

This doesn't make any sense. All of the Tavors sold had to have the bolts disassembled and the firing pins installed by the end user, and the replacement bolts are being sent to the owner, so why is IWI suddenly so concerned about you taking some sort of training? Is the training just for the bolt replacement, or comprehensive for the whole rifle? Are you required to take the training in Israel, or are they sending armorers to instruct you here in Canada?

And does/will this training requirement also extend to the shipment & sale of newly manufactured rifles and the left handed bolts, or will they be available before spring?
