The Templar Thread, 5.56 by Crusader Arms / Spectre LTD

For what it's worth, the Sentinel(which is functionally the same as the Templar) went for around $1600 or so with a buffer tube and stock. That F5 "ACR" stock sells for $300usd and bumps the price up to what it currently sits at ($2000 with a milspec trigger). I'd imagine that if there was a demand, Crusader could offer the Templar with a buffer tube and stock at a lower price point since it would require no modification whatsoever.

This is a great point.
Crusader can change the look/appeal by having some of the Magpul (or other) fixed/telescoping stock options.
Besides the buffer tube and stock, what other parts does one need to change out the F5?

When you remove the F5 MFG ACR-style stock, there is a standard screw-in that would accept standard AR15 buffer tubes. So, nothing else is needed aside from the tools to remove the F5 folding stock.

Apparently I don't have the rights yet as a new user to post an image directly to this thread, so see this link for the image which shows what you can see when you remove the stock: https://imgur.com/gallery/jsGVVTp

I guess you would also need the standard castle nut that goes over the buffer tube to secure it in place; I haven't bought a buffer tube separately - does the castle nut typically ship with the tube?

A quick google search seems to indicate that the AR-15 castle nut stock lock ring is not typically included, so you would need that as well.

Yeah, you'd just need a buffer tube, castle nut and stock of your choice.

What no pictures? Tease lol

I'm going to put up a review of the Crusader 9 Dual Calibre Combo in about a week - I'll have some pictures of my set up then. Excited to share.

How are Templar owners doing? Any new discoveries/odd maintenance quirks? I'd like to add anything that gets discovered to my thread about Sentinel/Templar maintenance at Reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns...der_arms_templar_crusader_9_maintenance_tips/

I should add something that is not a maintenance trick but a little "protip" - the Magpul MOE stock that came with my upgrade package for the Crusader 9 wobbled a bit on the milspec buffer tube. Nothing major, nothing that affected accuracy or handling to any great degree - it was just an annoyance. I watched this video (this is one of many that suggest the same fix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=armELc_bC_4 and it worked like a charm - my stock now has no wobble and is nice and tight.

Really so they added another week? Unreal. Thanks for the update barthammer

PAL reference # generated on Monday this week, but no shipment info so far from CA.

Wondering if anyone else's has shipped?

Edit: Emailed them... got a tracking number back. Not picked up by Canada post yet, but it's something. I'll let ya'll know when I have it in and can put some rounds through it. I also purchased a few boxes of 65-77g to do some of my own 100y accuracy testing, but plan to generally run 55g.

Mine arrived suddenly without a tracking number provided to me so keep your eyes open!

Welcome to the Crusader club! Make sure to check out this thread that I started at Reddit for tips on keeping your Templar/Sentinel in top form: https://www.reddit.com/r/canadaguns...der_arms_templar_crusader_9_maintenance_tips/

I got up to 480 rounds total fired through the Sentinel 5.56mm upper this weekend. One more range session and it will be 500+ rounds with no stoppages or major operational issues. 9mm upper has 650+ rounds.

Let us know how you like it!

Oh really? Guess I’ll have to check on Monday.

Did you get any update from CA?

I asked them why my shipping label created Feb 27 still just says "label created" and got a snarky response that it just means I'm in the queue to ship out but no indication when it will actually be picked up by canada post... Why bother sending me a tracking number then? Lol.

I'm getting less and less confident in them by the day.

Mine ended up arriving on Mar 6 and I never received shipping notification, appears to have shipped on Feb 27.

I'm now waiting on them to send the TriggerTech I ordered it with. It ended up coming with the milspec one installed.

**Update, CA rectified things and I received the TriggerTech trigger today, April 3.

Still nothing from C.A. I’ll be checking mail again tomorrow. Yes their customer service is about as bad as it gets. I’m hoping it’s here soon trigger fingers getting itchy lol.

Oh that’s not good, sorry to hear that. I ordered the same so hope mine arrives with it. I’d hate to have to try and deal with that and then wait some more. I hope they get it rectified quickly for you.
