The ultimate front sight solution...for the cost of a case of beer.

This is one 45ACPKing had done by Dlask. They use the original castlenut to lock the flash hider in place with the original set screw. It hasn't moved on me yet.

Still sorting out pictures but in a GI fiberglass stock, the hole-puncher front sight puts one of these at 38.75" oal.

Now think of this: the SOCOM is 37.25" oal.

So I'm only giving up an inch and a half to the SOCOM...but with much better ballistics!

With a vortex on I think oal was at about 40". Not a big difference but every inch counts if you're posing in front of a smallish mirror!

I just discovered amognst my box of flash hiders n things...... one of these dlask modded flash hiders. I'm not going to put it in the EE so if someone is interested and sees this post....... p.m. me :D

Awesome Misanthropist, awesome! Now, if Erin was holding them for the photo's..., I might have said AWESOME!!!

Cheers

Very cool job on both. Now, have you shot with the scout? Are you finding the front sight height off?

So far I have not noticed any problem with the front sight height, and neither has anyone else who has shot it. HOWEVER, I only have about 150 rounds through it. I would think I would notice a problem like that immediately, but it's possible that I wouldn't. I tend to use holdover and holdunder more than I adjust sights so it's possible that the sight would bother someone else?

But nobody who has shot it has had a problem yet. In theory the front sight blade should be a little too tall now, I guess. But in practise I have not found any difference.

I have been shooting it between 50 and 100 m since the swapover.

Cool, those are badass. Actually one of my early shorty nork ideas was to take one of those, thread 90% of it, then port the barrel in the same pattern, thereby making a non-restricted SOCOM. Although I planned to use the .223 version bored out, rather than the M14 type.

I just never got around to it.
