75 rifles affected, 40 that had to be dealt with. The issue? Manufacturer defect which results in accuracy being nowhere near what the product is advertised as. A factory fix is made and all new ones have this. Is that not a recall? They can work around it however they want, but that's the definition of a product recall, even if it's voluntary. For those using this product when more than just paper targets are at stake, that could potentially be an issue. Especially if they are expecting a sub moa rifle. Or .5 to .75 moa as expected accuracy according to ATR.
Yes, direct questions were asked. Indirect, evasive answers provided. In essence it confirms what we already knew. The BCG was already proven as a DPMS for the Modern Hunter on another forum. So no surprise there. Just curious about the Modern Varminter. Again evasive answer, so one would predict that it's the DPMS BCG which Rick is trying to avoid stating. Probably because of it's cheap below grade reputation in the AR world. No amount of used car salesmanship can make those who know AR rifles, believe that the consumer grade DPMS BCG is anything but entry level. Definitely a far cry from high end.
Unlike yourself I don't have a ton of money and ego at stake with this venture. I'm not trying to justify a purchase decision or retain my resale value when I go to put it up on the EE due to a "Change in interests" etc. I know you're heavily invested in this. I'm sorry. This isn't really about you. It's about finding all the information so the potential consumer can make an informed decision. Not Caveat Emptor. Kind of the whole point frankly of joining a forum.
