The Varmints are coming!!!!

Huh. I ordered mine mid-February and am still waiting. Ordered the proof barrel though, so might be waiting for the rest of the order to come in.

Rick, are there still some of the first batch outstanding awaiting Proof barrels?

Got the phone call we've all been waiting for today! My MV is finished and will be should be here next week. Hopefully, I can get to the range, but either way will post some pics.

I went with the CFW barrel, ATRS brake, fortis handguard, and Magpul CTR stock. Can't wait to give it a try! I see ATRS is bringing in the new Viper PST Gen 2 FFP. If I didn't already have a scope for this rifle already, I think I'd give one of their 3-15 a try. Looks like a winner.

Ordered mine mid September and got the call today. 4 months and some change. That was alot faster then I expected! Great news!

For real!!? What is the configuration of your rifle. I ordered mine second week of sept. pretty plain jane rifle. After seeing your post I'm going to be antsy as hell!

Lite barrel collapsible stock no options part from a magpul asap sling plate and 3 mags, milspec buffer tube.

Picked up my rifle yesterday, must say, what an absolute work of art. Pic's to come, no range time in the foreseeable future at a decent range the proper facilities to print groups though... :(

How many acres do you live on?
I though you farmer types had winters pretty much off.
Go outside and set up a target in the field 100yds away and shoot your damn guns. You have the space to run thousands of rounds through your rifles but you never shoot any of them. I just don't get it.
Well you have a nice collection of like new firearms I guess.

Does anyone have more than 100 rounds through their rifle? 40 pages and only a couple half ass range reports? Anyone done any load development and found what these barrels like? Come on guys less talk about welfare versions and how pretty they are and more shooting.

In response to the guys wishing for a low dollar version. I'm glad Rick has said there will be no such thing, these are not an "every man's rifle" these are high quality hand fitted high end rifles not an XCR or MR-1. You want cheap? Go on the EE and find a used pos mini14 or MR-1.
Why would they tool up the shop and hire more people to build a cheap model they wouldn't make money on and that everyone would complain about because it's not as good as the other models. They can't keep up to the demand for the one that's currently being produced so why take on a cheaper model.
All of you that think they would make their money in volume sales think again, the Swiss Arms Black Special and Classic Green were on shelves for years when the RCMP pulled out their magic wand and I think the numbers were something like 1200 rifles sold over 12 years, ya, non restricted black rifles sure do sell like hotcakes here in Canada. Look what you get for $1000 these days, a Norinco.
I think what most of you actually need is a time machine so you can go back to the good old days when you could buy a rifle for $800 and get quality. Unfortunately 20-30 years later there is a little thing called inflation, factor in labor costs have skyrocketed in North America, don't forget that our dollar is in the crapper as well so all those parts they have to order to build these are now more expensive.
If you can't afford one then do something in your life to help you get a better paying job or stop wasting your money on other stuff and save up. Just because you can't afford one doesn't mean the manufacturer should build it cheaper, think of how much more you'll appreciate it if you save up and buy the Lamborghini instead of the Kia.

Keep up the good work Rick, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a MV and hoping it pushes me off the fence to order one.

It's winter time. I've got about a foot of snow outside my door, which is extremely unusual for southwest BC. Won't be doing any serious shooting for a while. Maybe in a couple of months.

I got about an inch and a half of snow, but I dont really have much time to shoot. This Friday and Saturday were the first couple days since christmas that I have had to go do anything non-farm related. Actual farm labor usually slows down in winter, but then you have to market your product and get ready for next season.

I should just buy a range finder, that way I can be sure of my shooting distance and such without going to an official range. I have dreams of building my own private range, I have the ability, just not the time to wven shoot. Maybe in a few years.

Details of the build so far & into the future:
-Proof Research barrel (w/ all the shiney bits Cerakoted BLK)

-undecided on what pistol grip to run, taking suggestions
