The Varmints are coming!!!!

If I ordered at the end of May, am I in production batch 1, or batch 2? I had hoped 1, but I'm guessing 2. I'm just trying to get my expectations in check in regards to delivery time, and whether I will have to be content with my other 223's for the winter :)

Sorry man. I was like THE last order on Jan 31, and February 1st prices went up and stared the list for production run #2.

(The price increase is what got me to get off my ass, haha)

For the guys who got their rifles already. How much did you charged for shipping??

Thanks,

Whatever Canada Post charges for the weight, dimensions of the package and value of insurance added. Plus $1.50 for the signature required and the tax rate assigned to the province of delivery. There is a difference between shipping the basic case and the Explorer case as the latter is bigger and much heavier.

On a base model rifle figure about $50.00 just for the insurance cost. Then add the actual cost of shipping and tax (taxes)

You are in Alberta. Shouldn't it be 5% GST only for everyone ?

Hey ,ATRS, have you guys been having any FTF ? Was reading another thread, a MV owner is having trouble feeding rounds. You guys experiencing this? He's using ATRS mags.Thanks.
Anything new on the CFW barrel?
Thanks

The only feeding issues I've run into so far were with a Canadian made Beowulf mag. The ATRS and metal mags I used all fed flawlessly.

That's to bad. I wish him well on his journey.

Thanks, I appreciate the well wishes.

During initial testing we ran the IMI beowulf mag to test. That's a case where you quite literally couldn't pay me to own a PCV beowulf mag.

There's lots of scuttlebutt about ATRS's polymer mag feeding issues in the Varminter in the black rifles forum.

That there is. Not to direct you away from the 77gr projectiles you want to run, but my understanding is that's the only ammunition that you've had feeding issues with?

With the length of those rounds you could likely encounter problems in any polymer magazine as the max oal is reduced.

There's also the possibility of a plastic edge (burr) at the top of the front where we have a semi circle machined in. That's just the nature of polymer I'm afraid and a couple seconds with a file or any metal edge should knock that down.

I would advise not seating the bullets deeper into the cases on factory ammo, as there is a point at which the pressure will go critical, and there's not much warning ahead of time. And who knows what powder they're running in there to start with.
