Maybe a .308 die would touch it right? idkWent looking for a small base 6.5x55 die,
I found a Redding 6.5 Swede small body die, so I'm going to try that first. If that doesn't bring it down enough, I will try the 308 one. If that fails, I'll start trimming the shell holder and/or the die to allow the case to go a little further into the die. - danMaybe a .308 die would touch it right? idk
That's a beauty alright. - danLoaded some .30 cal 185 Bergers to check in my father's Remington International Match 40X now that I put it back in the proper stock

I ended up using your idea. Once through the 6.5x55 body die, then a few pushes into the 308 small body die. don't want to push it all the way in (with Imperial Sizing wax you can do that), but three pushes until you feel it tighten up works. Swages what looks like a small belt at the bottom of the brass. Once more through the 6.5 body die to iron that out. Some are still a little tight, but they will all chamber in the Winchester now. I'll fireform them next and get some practice in at the same time. Whatever these were originally fired in the chamber must have been generous. Maybe a Ljungman, had a buddy with one years back and the brass came out way over sized. - danMaybe a .308 die would touch it right? idk
Shoots the 185's really well with the sling'n'irons! The extractor finally failed today- what do you expect for a rifle over 60 years old and thousands upon thousands of roundsThat's a beauty alright. - dan
They will do that. Why I have a couple spares, generally. Ejectors too. - danShoots the 185's really well with the sling'n'irons! The extractor finally failed today- what do you expect for a rifle over 60 years old and thousands upon thousands of rounds

Borrowed a chrono, about 2950+ fps on the high end. No hard bolt lifts or stamps. My shoulder sore now lol.Today 7mm rem mag 180 ELD-M’s at 3.39OAL with StaBall HD 69.0 to 73.0. Case is about 100% full at 73. Gonna be some spicy tacos.
Wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that. Just a question, is it my imagination or do some of your primers have indentations in them? What would cause that?Put together some 375-338wm loads for spring bear. Used new hofnady .458wm brass and necked down then fire formed, then loaded with 64gr of H4895 with 260gr accubonds which gets me 2600fps at the muzzle.

My Hornady priming tool does the same; the seater pin has a little protuberance in the center (lathe machining artifact) that does a little indent in the center of all my primers. Every time I use it , I tell myself that I should sand or grind it but after priming a couple of hundreds brass, I'm too lazy and postpone it.Wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that.
