The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

Ran out of Competition 9mm. So reloaded 800 rounds last night and now just need to gauge them.
Man alive, I tell ya, throwing them in the tumbler after loading makes them look like gold.

Loaded 50 rounds last night of 7mm SAUM & 150gr NBT w/ IMR 7828ssc. Over the last few weeks I have tumbled/neck sized/body sized/chamfered/primed about 900 pieces of 223 brass. That was a chore

Processed another 75 308 brass before my hands were on fire. Loaded 100 rounds of 308 with 175 gr nosler custom competition over imr4895. Primed another 100 308 to load up with some 178 gr amax over some imr4064

Fun idea for a thread. Reloading room is still a pile of boxes and need to build a new bench so might not have much to brag about for a while.

Went looking for pewter at the junk stores yesterday but struck out.

Finally got some 140 grain .277 Accubonds and loaded them for the .270 Weatherby instead of the 140 Ballistic tips. BC is a bit higher but bearing surface and base to ogive seems to be the same. Oughta work without a lot of fussing around, and hopefully give a bit of close range insurance.

I was just digging out what I need to load the same bullets in a 270 Win!! Nosler brass, BR2, H4831SC and 140 Accubonds!

Don't reload during hunting season. All should have been done prior..plinkers and target shooters are exempt.....Harold

DASHER BRASS,NO PICS AT THIS TIME, but today I annealed 30 rnds of 6mm BR brass which will become 6mm Dasher brass. The following steps will follow, With a home made Hydraulic adapter which fits the die I will initially form the brass. Come warm weather I will fireform for the final fitting and at the same time check for accuracy of a known load I use on other rifles.
Enjoy the winter weather.

I was just thinking of starting to reload for my 270. I was looking at the 150gr accubond LR's. They have a bc of .625. Thought they might make a nice longer range rifle to shoot.

Pretty pricey though

EDIT: Ahh sorry Im prepping some 243 brass tonight. :)

Just finished testing an unknown powder in my 30-338 Magnum. The powder came in a large plastic jug from a fellow here who has no idea what it is. Has some numbers on it that made little sense. It is a ball powder that has obviously been contaminated with some stick powder. Rather than wait until Spring to fertilize the roses, decided to test and determine the burning rate.

Started with 50 gr, went directly to 60, then 62, 64, 66, 68 and finally 70 gr with a 180 gr Speer bullet. Velocities started out at a tad over 2200 fps, and ended up at 2940.

Determined the powder is a bit slower than 4831, and faster than 870.

Testing again tomorrow with 70, 71, 72, 73, and 74 gr. Will have it nailed down pretty close after that.

I emptied a powder measure of H1000 into a nearly full 8 pounder of H414 once. After I got my heart started again and brooded for a few days I took a screen style strainer out of the kitchen and poured it through. The ball powder went through like water and the stick powder stayed in the strainer.

Thanks for that, Dogleg. There is not a lot of the stick powder in there, but enough to easily be noticed.

It barely gets cast 285s to 2000 fps in the 9.3X62 with its high expansion ratio, and so had to be pretty slow. My guess is 760 or H450 that has been "blended" with whatever the stick is.

We'll know better after today. As long as it doesn't get any colder, -17C here right now, will be heading back up to the range.

Just rolled some hot rod 7mm Mag...72gr IMR7828 under a 150gr Ballistic Tip...Ended up in the gravel pit last night and made some crushed rock outta some boulders at 300 yards...So was running low for todays whitetail hunt.

I was going to load up some 357Mag last night. Grabbed the bottle of H110 and started pouring it into the hopper and then it hit me... I forgot to remove the dump tube from the rotor and replace it with the metering insert! Powder was pouring out all over the bench. UGHHH! Spent the next 30min trying to salvage that black gold. I probably lost about 1/4oz of powder that spilled over onto the floor. ARGHHHH!

I loaded more of the 140 Accubonds that I loaded and shot yesterday in my .270 Weatherby. That worked out so well that it warranted loading enough for a real test at 5-600 yards. 'Course it snowed last night, and things are in that inbetween stage of a bit gooey for a truck, not enough snow for sled and a bit cold for a quad. Oh, and windy. Can't forget windy.

Will stay in touch. Am having a Vanguard chambered in 270 Wby right now. It will be my third one: one on a P17 and one on a Mauser, being the previous two. Both would get 130 Partitions to over 3500 fps with good case life, tight primer pockets, and zero case head expansion.

150 gr Swift A-Frames at 3200 are just devastating on big game. How do those 140 ABs perform? I have heard they are a tad soft.

Great cartridge!
