The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

I cast some 1 oz slugs with my Lee mold. Then broke out my old Lee Load All II shotshell loader I bought when I was 17 years old. I'm 39 now. :)

I used some Winchester primers and Winchester 540 powder purchased at the same time as the loader. I hope they work!

6.5x55. 129gr Amax over 42gr of imr4350, Dominion primer and Norma cases.
I'll 9 rounds each, going up a grain each time, for my new Swedish Mauser. Just started writing charge weights on the cases with a Sharpie, so easy to identify loads and it comes off easy with a quick tumble. Should've thought of it earlier.

36 - 300 Weatherby Mag to test 3 different loads and bullets
50 270 Loads, 2 different powders to fins accurate load.
50 308 Hunting loads to try and test out a couple of powders and bullets
Trying to figure out my go to and back up Moose rifle for next weekend.

I have been loading some big old cast bullets lately in my 45-70. Love shooting that cartridge!

This is a selection of the bullets I have been trying lately.

On the left is Bullet barns 525 hard cast postell. The second from the left is my custom made mold that is an adaptation of the Postell design, but 550 grains when the soft lead is cast. The two bullets in the center are a design I had drawn up to fit my Browning 1885 BPCR chamber. The bullet on the right is a 425 grain bullet I cast that has two crimping grooves so I can use the lower crimp groove and still reach the rifling lands with the short Hornady brass. A handy option! The flat point on this bullet is nasty!

resized, trimmed, deburred and primer pocket cleaned 600 .223 brass. Waiting to do another batch or 2 of 9, and 300 40 before I switch the powder dispenser around to load rifle cartridges.

I got a lot done today. Deprimed and wet tumbled ~400 .38 spl cases Primed 500 .38's with Hornady hand primer. Sized and necked 400 pcs .38 spl and loaded 500 148 grn DBWC .38's on my single stage. Have to buy some more small primers before I load anymore.

100 rds of .45-70 with my plinking load of W-W cases, 12 gr of Trailboss and a 405 gr cast FN.

Also 50 rds of what I call '06 Lite, R-P once-fired cases, 45 gr of 4064 and a 150 gr RNSP for the .30-30 @ about 2500 FPS. I load these for the younger/smaller shooters who want to shoot .30-06 but are still a little recoil shy. One of the young guys I do this for just got a Savage Axis for his 16th birthday and has less meat on him than a chicken's instep. Say what you want about those "cheap" Savage rifles, but I used his and put 3 of the Lite load into 3/4" at 100m...

Just finished with a conversion experiment. Turning .223 brass to .380 ACP . Long story short is, it's possible but very labour intensive. Outside dimensions are relatively easy but inside case mouth winds up too thick, making it necessary to ream out the case mouth. That's where I stopped and ordered some 380 acp brass. Too much work for little gain. Fun experiment though.

Haha I went thru 250 round of 380 acp on the weekend, everyone got thrown into the brass bucket. Unfortunately they were south of the border.

Cool stuff!
45-70 is so versatile you can do almost anything.
