The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

...a fellow customer figured out that 8x56mmR Mannlicher-Schoenauer brass from PPU might be an option. Bought it for a relative pittance, brought it home and it resized and chambered in the Danish Rolling Block just fine.

Yeah, it's 2-thousands of an inch shorter but I don't even remotely see that of an issue, particularly since I have 50 brass for a quarter of the price...

That brass will work just fine. There are other options that will work too but none as easier than 8x56mmR.

Been a while since I hit the presses. Reloaded up 50rnds of 147gr 9mm for the chronograph now that it's back from the shop. Got 25x at 3.1gr TG and 25x at 3.2gr TG. Hoping to come down to 130PF while maintaining accuracy.

Post a picture of that stuff when you get it all done up and ready to go.

By your command. I don't know what specifically you wanted to see -- the dies or the finished rounds -- but here you go. Let me say this at the outset, the CH4D dies were pricey but damn are they some solid dies. You can really feel the quality in just handling them, let alone actually sizing brass and seating bullets.

First, some numbers. The 8x56mmR Mannlicher-Schoenauer brass that from PPU that I'm converting to 8x58mmRD measured out at 2.190" before sizing. After sizing they came in at 2.192".

The first batch I rolled tonight are some test loads -- ranging from 29 to 33 grains of H322. I'm told that H322 makes a decent substitute for the black powder that the 8x58mmRD rounds originally used so I went with it for a start. Not that much Danish Krag load data out there so I'm feeling my way around for a good load.

A comparison of the M-S brass before and after sizing:

A finished example of an 8x58mmRD (well, almost 58):

My apologies for the quality of the pictures -- my bench is lit enough for working, not so much for photography. That and I'm not much of a photographer.

Yesterday and today. 500 rounds 357 mag and 400 rounds 38 Spl all with my own cast and PC boolits. 1894 will be in for a workout soon.

Next will be 500 44 mag for my 1894. Boolits will of course be cast and PC.

Casted 100- 300 gr 44 mag SWC and 300 -200 gr 45 SWC then loaded 50 44 mag and 400 45ACP
I lube size all my cast bullets. I see the trend is to powder coat. Does powder coat save a lot of time and how does it help lube the barrel when the bullets is flying out of there?

300 rounds of 38spl with the Lee 4hole turret press. I've had this press for 10 years, incredible quality, along with the Lee carbide dies and auto-disk measure, I am im'press'ed.

So much so, last night I ordered the Lee Pro 1000 in 38/357. I have heard the priming system is bad, but I'd like to try it out, if it's anything like the turret press, I can increase my production from 125 rounds per hour to 500+ according to their website.

158gr CamPro Truncated Cone bullets with 5.1 grains of Unique, great in the revolver and lever gun.

New 38 Super load test.
160gr. LRN
5.5gr. Win540

Very accurate @25yrds, will be loading more.
Smoky when fired, but doesn't seem to foul the gun. Had the powder for years, this is the first load I've found (outside shotgun) that I can use it in.

Had a buddy over last night and under my direct supervision, taught him how to handload. We did 50 rounds of .223 last night, and tonight he's coming back to learn about casting and powder coating. I'm hoping I'm creating another addict
