The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

I had a round look like a major overfill once (always look for a nominal charge before placing a bullet), and on investigation turned out to be the powder charge sitting on top of a crumpled bit of target paper inside the case. So now all the cleaned cases get examined under a good light and if I don't see the inside of the primer hole it doesn't go in the ready bin beside the press.

Always good advice. Also tumbler media can get stuck in the case as well, I've had that happen a few times over the years. - dan

I have had a spider make a nest in one of mine

Loaded a few 38-55 over the past 3 - 4 days here are samples:
On the left, WW cases, F210 primed, 32 grains of H322 chasing the 255 grain Barnes original FBSP [1835 fps]
I shot my biggest Whitetail to date with this load.

Right side rear: WW cases, F210 primed, 28 grains of Norma 200, chasing a cactus Plains 265 grain PB bullet [.379" dia]
Right side front: Starline cases, F210 primed 26 grains of Norma 200, chasing a 285 grain Lyman [375499 GC] bullet [.379 dia.]

All these will shoot right around 1.25 MOA from my M94 Legendary Frontiersman. [24" barrel, Williams foolproof/firesight]
Regards, Dave.

.45 Colt

Started getting prepared for the upcoming shooting season by reloading 45LC for my Cimmaron Uberti 1858 Remingtons with Howell Conversion cylinders. As you can see from the pic I'm using Winchester, Remington, Starline, Federal and S&B brass. The primers are WMLP, powder is 5.5g of Trailboss and bullets are 200g powder coated.

Hello everybody. I just got into reloading and have almost everything I need to start. My Lyman Reloading manual says to use large rifle primers for my win mag 300 but it calls for large rifle magnum primers for my 7mm Rem Mag. Problem is I have a thousand CCI large rifle primers and a 1000 CCI Large rifle BR2 primers. Had a hell of a time finding them and I can't find Large rifle Magnum primers ANYWHERE. My question is if I can use LR primers for my 300 win mag why the hell can't I use LR primers for my 7mm Rem Mag? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can. Go ahead, and just chrony your loads while accuracy testing (or similar) and you can see if there are any pressure changes from Magnum primers. - dan

I put together a few types of 6.5 PRC over the last couple days to do some ladder tests.

From left to right. 150gr Nosler ABLR, 127gr Barnes LRX, 120gr Nosler E-Tip

600rnds of .357Mag plinking rounds: 158gr jacketed flat nose over 5.8grs Red Dot with federal small pistol mag primers.
Makes for a nice intermediate load; more power than 38+p but not as much snap as max loads of H110

Raining yesterday... snowing today....
Loaded 42 rounds of 6.5x52 Carcano for when the weather gets nicer. Using 143gr (0.268") cast projectiles from Jet Bullets over 10gr of Alliant Unique

2 cases of AAs...1 1/8 oz 1335 fps.....353 rounds of AAs...3/4 oz for the grand kids to shoot...and 45 Rem 28 ga STS...3/4 oz as well.
.... 6.5 CM coming soon for my new Browning Hells Canyon Long Range !!

Working on some 6.5CM and 7-08. All decapped, tossed in tumbler so far. 6.5's got neck sized for turning the necks, and turning to .013 walls is done. Next is either neck bump or FLS to what is longest datum length, trim chamfer, clean pockets and load em up. These will be 136gr Scenar L's over RL16 w/ GM210M. Already did a pressure run from 39-42 gr, the upper 39-40 gr zone and mid 41gr zone looks good, so I'll load some there and check again, chrono them this time. The 7-08's have been pressure tested with a 140 Nos BT and RL16 and a std primer, will try a mag primer on the next batch. Both were shot with new brass, see what they do this time.

Just loaded 15 round for 375 Ruger , sierra 250gr sbt, 77 gr RL15
