The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

I think I finally found the right bullet for my 24” 1:8 .223 barrel yesterday after trying 3 different ones previously (55gr hornady fmj bt they work fine out to 300 but the goal is 600 , 62gr smk , 77gr smk , and now 69gr smk hpbt for the win !
I was able to get decent results with the 77’s with 3 different powders (found a load for each) but wanted better consistency and smaller groups….don’t we all hehe
Anyway I chose cfe 223 , cci 400, and LC brass. The 55’s are fine with cfe 223, varget and tac , same primers but PMC brass
Glad the hunt is over now to fine tune them and start smackin steel at 600!
Next up I will take a run at a .308 hunting load (for next season but developing now as the temperature will be similar) and a 6.5 load for the 1 mile (will be working on that in the spring)
Good luck to the rest of you re-loaders out there looking for that special someone…..ya I felt like a radio dj on that outro haha

Loaded up 50 rounds of 7.5x54 French (using converted 6.5x55 brass). 39.0gr of IMR4064 pushing a 147gr Campro FMJBT

Running some brass.measurements lately , and shooting some factory brass to fireform them in my .223 F/Tr Gun.
Did some initial testing with 85.5 Berger Hybrid target bullets against my favorite 95 Match King load.
Testing is ongoing and the Bergers look good but the 95's are still shooting V's and Bulls in fairy still wind at 300 meters😁

50 rounds of .223 with 69gr smk hpbt over cfe 223 and cci 400 pr in LC once fired brass.
5 loads of 10
Did a round robin of 3-3 shot groups and the 10th in the middle of each at the end.

Made 203 rounds of .223. Finished up the last of my 4007SSC, before it spontaneously combusts or turns into poop. Found a great load that consistently shoots 0.3 to 0.4 moa, 5-shot groups.

This will be great for PRS practice.

Just finished 50 rounds each of .223 , 85.5 Bergers and 95 grain Match Kings for a head to head match up to see which ones shoot better in my match rifle.
The throat is getting a bit fire cracked and I want to see if there is a discernible accuracy difference in the two bullet profiles with the worn throat

Made up a 25 Creedmoor ladder and some sighters today, using Berger 135 gr bullets, H4350 and some annealed Sako 6.5 CM brass (from a gun I don't own anymore - necked down in two steps, first with a Forster FL bushing die with the expander ball removed and then with a SAC Creedmoor die with appropriate bushing and expander mandrel. Seated with Wilson in-line seater die, 0.002 off lands). I'm trying out CCI magnum SR primers - have been reading that the pros tend to use magnum primers to maximize powder burn. Guess we'll see how that works! Now I just have to wait for some slightly milder weather (although I'm originally from Sudbury, -15 C range days are a bit of a stretch for my 50+ carcase!)

So today I found 25 150gr interlocks (not really lost just kinda forgot about them) and some nice fella at the range had previously gave me a freshly shot box of berger ammunition to try the lapua brass as he noticed my slight frustration and deemed it my FC brass the root of my problem (since then I bought 50 new lapua) and hadn’t loaded his 20 yet.
Short story longer I built a quick ladder of 5 charges featuring varget and cci 200 and the winner will sit behind the remaining 5 and will see how they do on steel at 2,3,4,5,and 600m one at each to enjoy the fruits of my labor. IMG_5515.jpeg

Do you bother with the cannelures on the interlocks ? Do you seat them at the cannelures ?
Thank you
