The Winchester project: Compleat! 55-/+ pics!

Good day all,

Today, I'll be going through the process of how I "re-built" a Winchester rifle that I bought not too long ago. I would go into much detail as the pictures do most of the talking, but I will add some detail above some pictures. AND HERE WE GO!!!!!>........ (Skip to post #5 for compleated pictures)

Winchester Model 1906, Made in 1935. Missing the front barrel band, rear stock and hammer spring.

With a set a files, drill press and vice, I started on the barrel band......

And now onto the rear stock. Walnut is my wood of choice.

And now onto the Bronze butt plate!

Using the butt plate as a outline, I was able to move onto shaping the stock.

Moving onto the pump hadel.

After the final rough sanding, I found there to be a large crack in a knot. Easy fix!

Fast foreward through the finnishing process, the final product!

That is beautiful. PM me if you are interested in doing some for other shotty's. There's a 20 gauge I've been thinking of getting from a buddy but its stock is destroyed and been having troubles finding a replacement to make it useful. If you're interested I'd love to find out how much you'd want to do it.

I have just about the same gun, it was my grandfathers, he gave it to me. He used to say he could shoot the eye out of a gogher with it, maybe a stratch of the imagination but I have killed many gophers, magpies and pigeons with it. Still use it around the yard with subsonics to keep the noise down.

You've got some real skills there!

I had been thinking about restoring it and after seeing yours I really want to restore it!!
I may have to go take some pics of the old girl and start a thread to see thoughts on restoration.
