The World's Most Reliable Handgun

Riiiiight. But when you said "I've seen many revolvers at matches and none functioned flawlessly", THAT was to be taken as scientific evidence?

You still don't understand:D When talking about Glock's problem, then he will say the shooter's problem, it was the guy behind the trigger. But when comes to revolver or 1911, then he will say the gun wasn't a good design.

Lol, yeah, I think that about covers it.

Makes perfect sense! Silly me!

On the question of reliability, years back when I first started handgun shooting at the local club, one of the more colourful handgun characters there was ex military from Quebec. He had been in Europe in the Canadian Army and one day while waiting in England for the invasion to commence, he was involved in a discussion as to which was the most battlefield durable sidearm. In the story he related to us, what ended up being the test I believe was five different examples were tied on a rope and they were then dragged around a field by a rider on a galloping horse. The handguns I remember being named were an American Colt 1911, A Canadian Inglas Browning, a British Webley, a Polish semi auto of some sort and what the fifth was I can't recall. After the test, apparently the only one that would still function was the Webley. While old Leo wasn't any too fond of the British, he was impressed by the durability of their sidearm.

Which, of course, is quite valuable information if your journey to the battle happens to include being dragged behind a galloping horse.

Reminds me of the Kool-Aide drinkers who say their GLOCK can be fired underwater, so that makes them the bestest! I'm sure that will prove invaluable if we ever have to take out Aqua-Man...

Having owned and fired many different pistols and revolvers over the years, my favorite at the moment (and I admit I can be fickle) for absolute reliability is my little Ruger SP101 in .357

The only pistol I've seen that able to keep fire several rounds inside a bucket of water without fail is the K-100 AKA STI-GP6. You should able to do a little search at the youtube. General speaking modern pistol design is very reliable but the workmanship and QC standard cause trouble.

It was merely to show under the roughest circumstances all were equally subjected to, and which one survived and still functioned. In battlefield conditions, all that occurs isn't as neet and tidy as it is under inspection on a parade square or fire practice on the range.....:)

Why do you say that? I can’t feed SWC rounds through the Glocks I’ve tried, but never had a feed issue with a 92S.

I use to feed SWC through my gen 1 glock 45 never had an issue. The only issue I had with my other Glock was with my G19 and the lonewolf barrel with its tight chamber and remanufactured ammo.but only one batch of it. never had a problem since. But as for my G21 Lead SWC and lots of it. Things could have gotten ugly but I never had a jam. lucky I guess.

Oh I know... I just think that some of them go beyond the absurd. And they seem to get brought up a LOT.

When it comes to semi auto pistols, there's a new kid in the block.
Step aside glock and sig, it's now the FNP pistols!!!!

That actually made me laugh out loud...!

Y'know, I hate to admit it, and don't tell anyone, but one day, I probably will own a Glock. I've shot a couple, and actually, they aren't bad heaters....

I just can't handle Glock OWNERS...

Anyone seen a T/C single shot pistol fail????????
No moving part except for the trigger system, hammer, and the hinge.
Should be the best handgun eh?

I know man, its all in good fun. I love glocks but like the 1911, i've been around awhile too and know theres lots of superb handguns in the world.

For me Glocks are one of those pistols that I am always considering getting....yet never do. My buddy owns a Glock in 10mm and used it for wilderness carry when he worked in on the Dean River ( he's a DFO) he swears by them.

I have owned 2 CZ's and still really like them. Never had an issue with either of them.

blah blach blah blah....

THe best and most reliable handgun is the one you can shoot best with. It's that handgun that you know inside and out.
For me its a sig P220 and a CZ-75.
FOr others its glocks, HS, USP and what not.
It's individual preference.
All handguns are made well nowadays (well, almost all..)

See, that's the other thing. I don't own a 1911, but could definitely see buying a beater, just because I find the mechanics of them facinating. The more I get into working on my own pistols, the more I think that building a 1911 would be a project I would take on. Glocks have never really appealed in that respect, because even the "Glock build" threads are largely nothing more than parts swapping. I don't really find a pistol made up of off the shelf parts traded in all that interesting, but when someone pulls a DA trigger that I've put a couple hours into with "stones and sandpaper" & says "Holy crap! How did you get your trigger like that?", I DO take a measure of satisfaction.
