They've just replaced the word "tactical" with "zombie" is so many instances ...... remember when American Eagle .223/5.56mm switched from a red box to a "tactical" black cartridge box ?....:D

Zombies , facebook, twilight , cell phones ............all the same crap to me!!!

Interests me about as much as underwear soaked in liquid heat and sprinkled with cayenne pepper.

The day I go out and buy Hogue neon green accessories for my pump and slap a biohazard EoTech on my AR will be the day after I realize I've been bitten...

NOW as for silver bullets!! Where can I get those???? There werewolves are coming people, you've been warned! :D

I dont have anything z cause it seems more expencive (espically the ammo!) I would certinaly consider getting some of that but the boxes are half empty! Lol (arent full 50 boxes). Anywho I think it just shows we can take a joke brings people out to the sport and its fun. ITS THE NEW PINK GET OVER IT hahah..Although I see my local stores have the zombie targets now maybe I should try some of those.

The zombie craze is fun in a lot of ways, and I think it's far from over. Certainly we haven't had enough of zombies in the media yet. Also, as a metaphor used for disaster/SHTF preparedness, it's a useful way of making light of a dark subject.

What needs to stop though I think is the hyper expensive (Hornady Z-max anyone?) zombie themed gear, or even worse, the zombie themed gear that actually makes a good piece of kit worse (EoTech zombie reticle, I'm looking at you).

Aesthetically, some (I stress some) of the zombie themed guns look cool, and certainly no worse than all those ARs hydro-dipped with the american flag. A lot of the fluorescent green #### just looks awful though.

For Blaxsun :p.

lol, thanks for the laugh (they say if you can't laugh at yourself... ;) )

Haha, no doubt! Not unlike most Government departments, I might add. ;)

And that's differant from civillians dressing up in military fatigues and pretending to be soldiers -tactical officers -secret agents. How? At least no one (except Alice) takes zombies seriously

Come on you guys, Like seriously? Complaining about zombie accessories is like complaining that there's more that one type of pick up truck. Who Cares unless you're going to buy one? I'm in the attitude that if it attracts more people to the sport, GOOD! The more of us there are means the less the liberal nuts will be able to complain.

On a Side note, I will probably buy one of the eotechs with the zombie reticle, why? Because i'm preparing for the zombie Apocalypse? No, because chances are, the only time i'll ever have to use my AR is at the range putting holes in paper, so why not have a little fun doing it?

I'll Have a regular scope too though :)

Ultimately we want firearms related companies to be profitable, Why? because then they can put more money into R&D, PRO Gun Lobby groups and Marketing. All things that are good for every enthusiast in the long run.

As far as movies go, I'm all for it, where it be viruses or contaminated blood or water etc. it offers some awesome plot lines for the imagination ... imagination = FICTION!

I believe the zombie thing is simply a product of a lack of a common real enemy. WWII is long over so no Germans to hate, the Cold War is over so no Commies to hate, and now we the war on terror but it would be quite faux-pas (and down-right racist / ignorant) to hate all Arabs. So now we have Zombies. We buy or toys and play with them and know full-well that "black rifles" are combat rifles that have been designed to kill people but this is taboo and we don't talk about this. Read any of these blogs were Joe Smith has an awesome AR or whatever to fend off Zombie hordes, all they are really saying is they have a rifle that is capable of killing many people. Think about it, replace the word "zombie" with "person" and voila.

It all comes down to "de-humanization" a term psychologist and sociologists use when explaining the process a person goes through while preparing themselves to kill other people. If you don't see your enemy as another equal human being it is easier to destroy them. That is why wars has spawned so many terms; towel heads, gooks, japs, Jerrys, yanks, etc.

Personally I find the zombie thing entertaining but I see it for what it is.

Ask me why I shoot and I will tell you it's because I'm a perfectionist, I started out with precision rifles and it was a perfect fit for me. I've got an XCR on the way, why? because I want to challenge myself with faster shooting.

Guns are fun and zombies don't exist. People who are dead serious about getting good at killing hordes of zombies scare me more than zombies themselves.

My two cents.

I Totally agree with you on this.

But a zombie apocalype is totally possible! I saw a clip of scientists from the CDC talking about the kind of scary viruses and parasites that can indeed cause people to lose their #### ala 28 days later. check out the crazy parasite that take over the brains of certain insect and cause them to commit suicide and purposely infect others. Scary stuff!
