Serious miscommunication between the homeowners and the hunter asking permission to hunt "wild boars". He ends up shooting their pet pot bellied pigs. Ouch!

Some of those feral porkers out there, are abandoned pets. Nothing cute and cuddly abut them and can be mean as Hell. Something to consider.

Grizz

So by that logic all gun owners should be judged by the actions of a few.

Thats why I took exception in another thread on the same topic.
I say toss the offender under the bus and condemn this guy for his actions.
He isnt a hunter he is a careless fool !
But, others will disagree and thats their right.
But, I dont consider him a hunter !

From how I read the article I think he knew full well what he was doing. I don't know because I've never successfully shot anything yet but I hope I don't get that desire to kill something just to say I killed something that day. I'm having a hard time with how someone can be as oblivious as this hunter claimed he was.

Just the fact that he didn't even have permission, full stop right there.

In the court of public perception, hes both.

Either way, what the guy did was wrong on multiple levels, and he should be punished accordingly.

Sooo call for permission, leave a message, assume permission obtained. Got it!

Edit: the couple should call these fools and invite them over for dinner under the guise of forgiving them... just going to leave it at that, don’t want to suggest what the couple should do with the fools once they arrive.

I suppose my sarcasm rheostat was down way to low when I made that comment.
Just because public perception paints us with the same brush I will not stand by and allow this to be so.
Anyways nother topic Suther , how did your moose hunt go in the Adams Lake area go?

You woulda heard about it if it went good. lol

My buddies saw one cow. That was it. Talked to one guy while up there, and he was saying that the area used to be good but around 8 or 10 years ago the wolves moved in and did a number on the resident moose population. Saw lots of wolf tracks (some that were not more than an hour old) so I'd believe it...

We got that big snow storm on the 2nd of November, which cut off access to the higher elevation areas we wanted to get to. I did some hiking up there in the snow, going past where the tire tracks ended, saw a crap tonne of moose tracks, but never did see a moose. 3km in, and I was still only half way to the cuts we wanted to glass - and quite frankly Im not in the shape to be packing a moose out through 5 or 6 km of snow so....

It was nice to be out though. I'll be taking one last shoot at region 2 deer on or just after the 10th, can't do anything but study for my math final before then...

I heard on the news today that all he can be charged with is trespassing which is a $100.00 fine. That seems like not much of a deterrent. In Saskatchewan he would have a larger fine and lose his hunting privileges for at least one year, which is still not much of a deterrent.

All the police can charge him with is trespassing. Hunting regulations are governed my MNR, who are still investigating, and charges could still be laid under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act.
